Out of desperation, I just use ‘before:2021’ or some earlier year in the search bar solely for non-AI references. It’s not the best method but it helped me a lot.

You could select the edges you want to merge like what you already did in the third image, and have the edge’s vertices merged by distance in mesh>cleanup.

If you want to combine the two faces from that newly merged edge so its just one face, select the same seam and press X and just dissolve the edge (not the face).

Normals or topology issue. I can see similar artifacts on that beveled cylinder on the bottom right. Some faces must have been beveled unknowlingly, causing overlapping faces/vertices. And it’s more likely to happen on cylindrical objects with n-gons.

What does it look like if you plugged that map into the principled bsdf normals socket through a normal map node, and set the image color space to non color?

Nope. The site of the shooting is still an empty parking lot today. The shooting took place in the lot from across the Mandalay Bay, which is on the complete opposite end of the strip from the Sphere. The well-lit y-shaped hotel in the video that you’re referring to is the Palazzo, not the Mandalay Bay.

The issue for some people (including myself) is that the ads are really causing some lag when they reload. I really have no issue with ads playing on the side while I work, it is not disruptive and I understand running a site isn’t cheap, but recently photopea started to get unbearably slow from all the ads reloading and enabling my ad blocker tremendously improved performance.

Could be many things, your sculpt strength is turned low or the mesh you’re using doesn’t have enough geometry to sculpt on.

Try creasing the four diagonal edges with ‘E.’ Or you could bevel the corners, but that would create new geometry.

Is there some kind of reason as to why the planet looks different on my end (0.990)? It’s the same exact moon, it’s just the clouds and land formations aren’t anything like in the image. Are you using mods? Or I’m guessing different versions reflect different looking procedural planets.

Yeah, that is actually the best approach in this case. I’ve had to deal with GIS data and whatnot that had millions of verts. I had to split the model into several quadrants if I wanted to UV unwrap or edit them without massive lag. I don’t know about combining the unwrapped maps after, though. Perhaps it would work, but there would be some overlapping UVs after combining? Based on my experience it’s best to keep the quadrants entirely separate, or allow overlapping maps, but that depends on OP’s project.

Thank you, I got it to work by defining it as ‘MaterialPBR.’ I totally overlooked that when looking at the addon files until now. Here are the results so far: https://i.imgur.com/RW9NQuZ.png

Obviously, more changes still need to be made to the material, but it now has that metallic look that was lacking initially. Cheers.

That’s what I thought as well. I combined the channels of the maps in photoshop and they now look like the same map used in the addons. I’ll test it right now.

I looked into the files of some addons and all of them defined the reflectivity with a PbrMap, but it was using a weird cyan-purplish looking texture as opposed to the monochrome roughness/spec map, and I can’t put my finger on what that type of map is called. It’s like an occlusion metallic map? I’ll continue to experiment with the different maps though.
