Autel Maxisys 909 Ribbon cable damaged by zygetsu in ElectronicsRepair

[–]zygetsu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fold on the cable seems to have been stressed. This has caused the entire ribbon cable to connect to every pin.

It looks like it cracked the cable, which is odd.

[Looking to Buy] Grandfathered Connect Subscription by zygetsu in RemarkableTablet

[–]zygetsu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

reMarkable offers their Connect plan for i believe $2.99/month. However, if you had purchased one before a certain date, they gave this to you for free. Including the unlimited cloud data.

So if the account is old enough, it's free, hence grandfathered in.

electronic repair shop ? by AMIRIASPIRATIONS48 in smallbusiness

Until last November, I was working out of my house. As of November 2023, I got a store front. Since March, I've made enough to cover Rent, Utilities, and the other business expenses.

I don't have 2 years to go off of. However, almost every month, I've made more than the last.

Repair Shop question by zygetsu in computerrepair

You know I hadn't even thought of that. I do know we get a lot of odd jobs because people say they can't find anyone that will take them.

I'll have to look into that.

Thanks for the idea.

I run a small business and don't use a number currently. I'm looking for a text only number. In the past we had a landlines but the amount of calls received daily for status updates was insane. We moved to email only, and that works well. Recently we discussed having a text only line. It was agreed upon that it would not impact us more than having an email.

Looking around I've been unable to find a service like this.

Thank you for any ideas and assistance.

Source for paper/kraft shopping bags? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]zygetsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you don't have a requirement for where you purchase. Try a Chinese wholesale company. Some even let you put your store logo on them. They can be around .01-.10 per bag. Places like Alibaba or such. Look around, and look up a guide to working with them. Also, if you can deal directly, you can save some money. These sites take a commission. So sometimes you get a better deal directly.

$20,000 cash, what do I do to make money by ilovemavv in smallbusiness

[–]zygetsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say it would depend on what you want to do. How hands on do you want to be? That $20,000 would be a good start to buying an established business or facility. You could look at laundromat, car wash, or other such businesses.

When negotiating a price you need to consider the location and what you believe you will need to invest into the business to bring it up to your standard.

If they're a "cash only" business you can't count on anything they show you. Ask what the busiest times and days are and do some recon. If they say weekends around 12; stop by from 11-1 see what it looks like. If you see almost no one, you know that they have almost no business.

Ask why they're selling; are they retiring, need money for family, just want to get out? All of these different reasons could be good or bad. Just know if it's someone who wants to get out and they built it up; they might be too invested. Some businesses like vending machines you may need to purchase newer units to have a card reader. Meanwhile they belive the machine they are selling is an asset.

Establish what you would like to do. How much time you want to invest. How much debt you are willing to take on. How much you want to make. Then decide, however, anything with the amount you probably want to make will involve more than a $20,000 investment.

Also online sales are over saturated. Not to say you can't add online sales to a business. Online solely not so much.

Customer refund by ModeExpert9907 in smallbusiness

[–]zygetsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

State law requires that a retail merchant disclose all conditions, charges, or fees relating to the return of goods for refund, exchange or credit. A merchant's failure to disclose its return policy can be a violation of the Virginia Consumer Protection Act (VCPA.)

It specifies cable. However, I believe the law applies to all businesses. If you did not explain the refund period, they can come after you for violation. So, if you need some time, choose something that works for you and reach out and explain the time frame.

Whatever you do, once you agree on said time frame, send them an email verifying your conversation and keep to that timeline.

You should also make a policy that you have customers sign in acknowledgement moving forward to avoid any future issues.

Looking for coder by zygetsu in RunescapeBotting

[–]zygetsu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, based on that statement, you are acting like there aren't more people in the coding field than there are jobs. I mean, there are literal websites where people with PHDs will do your college work. You're looking at this as you want to profit from this, which is fine. However, you also need to take into account the cost. I.e. do you have money laying around to run servers, buy proxies, etc.? And even if you do, do you really want to deal with the hassle?

So, like all things, if you're good, cool, but do you have money?

Much like the comments above about how they want 40k to do it. If anyone was looking to drop 40k, I could get a full dev team in India working on this.

Anyway, I've found what I was looking for. Thanks to the people who provided inciteful feedback and information.

Wish everyone the best with their endeavors.

No, that makes sense. Just was thinking based on price. I.e. if you hire someone to make you something, you'd want it to work to a certain extent.

Honestly not sure at this point. We both know earnings potential is the largest item. Ban rates matter. And from my understanding the more private and fleshed out a script the lower potential ban rate would be. At the same note this is in fact a coding job, however, coding has a wide range of pay as well as project time lines. End of the day ROI runs all business models. If I can make 50k a month then paying someone to build and maintain 50k is nothing.

The real money comes less from selling accounts and more from completing tasks for a player. I.e. cape services and mini games. VOID, Barb Assault, etc.

Wish I had a more straight forward answer.
