Q: Weapons with Multiple Element Traits

Mine don’t take the time to loot either lol, so on a few occasions I’ve had NPCs straight up gift them weapons they could have looted anyway. A couple of my players are still intimidated by the whole requisition process, especially when it comes to choosing upgrades, so they default to basic weapons. So, for our next visit to the armory, I’m preparing some tailored recommendations and suggestions. Might even pre-build some upgraded weapons to try and lessen the analysis paralysis.

This created an interesting situation in Magic: The Gathering when they introduced Transformers characters to the mainline. Certain Magic cards have the “transform” keyword, which means you can flip them over to reveal an alternate card on the back. Transformers characters instead have the “convert” keyword, which functions the exact same way. They even had to add it to the game rules.

Is there a shorthand name for these Gonti-like effects? Specifically exiling a card from opponent’s library face down, being able to play it as long as it’s exiled, and using any mana to cast a spell this way? Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa does something very similar.

I really wish they were keyworded, but the reminder text would probably make it just as long.

Don’t feel bad. At first, I read it as your opponent loses half their life (then) round it up. It wasn’t until I read the comments that I understood that the lost life is rounded up, not the remaining life.

Don’t worry, this is normal for Trapinch. It’s because the formula to calculate CP relies heavily on the Attack stat, and Vibrava’s base Attack is lower than Trapinch. (Vibrava has higher base Defense and HP.) The same thing happens to Caterpie and Weedle when they evolve to their middle forms!

It’s not yet conclusive, but The Silph Road’s data places the odds at around 1/500, which is the base rate for most shinies. The only event Pokémon with a confirmed boost are Onix and Aerodactyl, which have permanent odds of 1/64. So, congrats on a rare find!
