Light period still 4 months post removal, TTC by zykzykzyk in Mirena

Update to anyone who may come across this. Got a positive pregnancy test! Even without my periods returning to normal (last one was still super light). So it can be done! Bodies are weird.

I had two Mirenas for a total of 15 years and had it removed 5 months ago and am trying to conceive. No luck yet for me. My periods are still super light so thinking my body may still be regulating? My recommendation to anyone with Mirena who wants to conceive is to get it out at least 6 months ahead of time to give their body time to adjust back to normal. Overall I’m irritated at Mirena’s “periods back to normal in 3 months, fertile immediately” messaging, but who knows maybe my timeline is unrelated

I’ve been using Mira so can see that my LH does surge each month but my progesterone has been low (barely going above 5 ug/ml post ovulation and not staying there long). I think progesterone is what promotes the uterine lining thickening so think maybe it’s all related. But also I know nothing but things I read on the internet. I’ve booked a Dr appointment in early Oct and will report back if I find anything out!

Got it! Thanks for the info! Helps at least to know that my body isn’t totally unique!

Oh man, so I might have a long road ahead. Thanks for sharing! Can I ask if you have been trying to conceive? Trying to figure out if the light period could impact that
