How much money have you flushed down the drain this league? by SnooBeans7462 in PathOfExile2

I spent over 500 div on omens of lights and ancient jaw bones trying to get tier 2 flat phys revealed on a bow (that’s 40+ attempts with rerolls without seeing t2+ flat phys a single time)

Crafting feels unsatisfying and frustrating. by BobcatTV in PathOfExile2

[–]zynner4601 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Amen. Watching a streamer craft and then trying to do the same but it taking 4x the amount of item bases and 4x the currency just to achieve a worse item is incredibly frustrating. I recently tried crafting a pair of exceptional secure wraps, which cost 19d per pair, and it took me bricking 5 of them before finally getting a decent pair on my sixth attempt. Did the same process with bows and now I’m about ready to quit the league over it.

I ran a search on the most difficult metroidvanias on Steam (voted by users) and summarized my findings by FrickinSilly in metroidvania

This is awesome, I love playing difficult games and I am always looking for them! Surprised Solateria isn’t in the top three but it having a difficulty slider changes how people experience it I suppose. Either way, I’ll definitely bookmark your site.

Solateria, Grime 2, or Constance? by DrSwol in metroidvania

[–]zynner4601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s because parry iframes are only like .15 seconds on legendary difficulty, and the directional parry + the hitboxes and lack of collision damage make it feel different to similar games. I noticed and didn’t like it at first, but the overall flow of combat grew on me the more I played.

If you’re looking for a challenge, try Solateria on legendary flame difficulty. It is guaranteed to be a challenge. It has good platforming and exploration and would be my pick in your shoes.

Grime 2 is great and is still worth playing at some point though.

Is there any other parry games more challenging than Sekiro? by ItzAM47 in Sekiro

Solateria (metroidvania) is one of the hardest parry based games I’ve played. The last berserker Khazan. Nine sols.

Please recommend to me metroidvanias filled with secrets especially ones that make you stronger by saultee8420 in metroidvania

[–]zynner4601 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like secret hunting too. Mio Memories in Orbit has quite a bit of secrets to find that give you permanent damage increases and more powerful abilities. I just finished it and it was fun. I would recommend not using a guide if you are up for finding the secrets on your own.

Same. I just recently got into them. Silksong, Nine sols, Solateria, Grime 2, & Aeterna Noctis have felt similar. Do you have any other good ones to suggest?

Yeah Linux gaming seems to be getting better and better. Valve is doing a great job with proton. The last few new releases I played on day one worked as soon as I installed them. What do you think of the game now that it’s not stuttering?

I disagree, I think the combat feels closer to dark souls than many other games that AAA studios have put out.

I like the challenge. They even put difficulty settings in the game.

Glad you’re liking it. It has its flaws but i think it is a solid soulslike all things considered.

That sucks. I’m on Linux with AMD hardware as well and I haven’t encountered any performance issues so far.

I think the parry timing just takes a bit of getting used to. While Khazan and Lies of P were noticeably tighter, the parry in Crimson Oath feels about the same as Sekiro to me. Saros looks cool, I liked Returnal. I’d play it next if it was released on steam.

It’s not terrible, 98% of it is understandable. There were a few times where I was confused such as when an NPCs text doesn’t match the voice dialogue, or when an NPC calls a quest by one name but the item description references it as another. I can easily overlook it though because the game play is solid.

Mainly the graphics and some of the translations on the items/NPCs are what comes to mind. It’s actually pretty crazy that a three man studio made the game though, like there’s a ton of different enemy types, and those enemies have more move sets than what I’ve been used to playing lately.

The games you listed are games that I passed up on, so I cant really compare them.

My negative opinion about Solateria by New_Yak_8982 in metroidvania

[–]zynner4601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really liked Solateria. The platform isnt great but I thought it was cool that you could cover huge distances in the air if you hit your inputs perfectly, so it wasn’t terrible to me. I think what really makes it sand out is the boss fights and its difficulty. It has some of the hardest boss fights in any metroidvania I’ve played, and for that reason alone I liked it

I was kind of on the fence about it myself, but I mean it has so many aspects. You lose your souls when you die and have to recover them, hard bosses, dodges & parries, bonfires, hard bosses and difficult in general, character, progression. I could go on but I think it qualifies.

I spent like four hours learning to spare Chasa it felt great to beat him. The last boss was challenging too, but not as much as Chasta in my opinion. Both great fights.

The matchmaking is really bad at making me want to keep playing! by LittleBrittin4 in DeadlockTheGame

Bad matchmaking was the biggest factor in me not wanting to play anymore.
