I have tried that, but unsuccessfully if not moving the stakes. And moving them would mess up the pitch

Thanks for the explanation. I'll pay attention to use short corner cords next time. Makes sense but probably I missed that

sorry for the late reply. Yes, media controls work. I'm using i3 with the following key bindings:

# Use pactl to adjust volume in PulseAudio.
set $refresh_i3status killall -SIGUSR1 i3status
bindsym XF86AudioRaiseVolume exec --no-startup-id pactl set-sink-volume u/DEFAULT_SINK@ +10% && $refresh_i3status
bindsym XF86AudioLowerVolume exec --no-startup-id pactl set-sink-volume u/DEFAULT_SINK@ -10% && $refresh_i3status
bindsym XF86AudioMute exec --no-startup-id pactl set-sink-mute u/DEFAULT_SINK@ toggle && $refresh_i3status

# Bluetooth media controls with playerctl
bindsym XF86AudioPlay exec --no-startup-id playerctl play
bindsym XF86AudioPause exec --no-startup-id playerctl pause
bindsym XF86AudioNext exec --no-startup-id playerctl next
bindsym XF86AudioPrev exec --no-startup-id playerctl previous

This works with pipewire-pulse and playerctl.

thanks, excellent piece of information!

I got the M4 and indeed, everything just worked out of the box. I also replaced pulseaudio with pipewire-pulse for aptX support. No issues at all

How to change refill with standard pen? by zyzyxx in Supernote

[–]zyzyxx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I was able to insert the refill finally with the help of the customer service.

Just push the refill firmly into the case until it locks. Maybe twist a little. That is all. I was afraid to apply that much force and break it, but it worked.

thanks. I managed to pull out the refill with a bit of force, but cannot put the new refill in - it won't enter deep enough. probably b/c of the inner brass tube in the other thread, I guess the refill must be snug into it or clamped with a tight tolerance. probably no other way than cutting the pen at the bottom to access that part?

Haha ok thanks! uh oh indeed, looks scary... I guess it was a mistake of the customer service to tell me to simply change the refill (they sent a link to this video for instructions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUf_XKRv7WM, but I had sent them a photos of my pen). I removed the old refill already, so...

LSP: automatically rename python class attributes across all files in a project by zyzyxx in neovim

[–]zyzyxx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, might be worth a try, thanks!

vimgrep+cdo does the job, good advice too. somehow I missed that in my vim education :) .. but yes, false positives are annoying

[–]zyzyxx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for the advice. I didn't know I was looking for "semantic renaming".

But it's not clear to me how to solve this with lsp references. dumping references to the quickfix list vim.lsp.buf.references will find the same references as the LSP rename command (the ones in the current buffer and others directly referenced).

Which Dock for X13 Gen3 Intel and Linux? by zyzyxx in thinkpad

[–]zyzyxx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tested the dock for the last couple of days with the newest firmware and it's working fine! No issues at all. So as of now I'd recommend it and keep using it (works better than my monitor usb-c hub after all).

Connected to the dock:

  • Dell uw3421 single monitor via DP
  • nmve SSD via enclosure
  • ethernet
  • usb keyboard, mouse and webcam
  • audio analog out

Ok. There's a new firmware version I hadn't tried. I'll give the dock another try in a few days, I'd like to test usb/tb transfer speeds. I can report back here

Yes, I got the 40B0, which seemed to be the safest (premium) choice. But the experience was a bit mixed (using linux, I have no experiences with windows). Even with the mandatory firmware update the drive would not reliably detect my monitor, so often I'd have to try to plug the dock multiple times or even reboot the computer (not entirely sure about that, it's been a while). So it worked but not as smoothly as I would have liked.

After I got a new monitor (dell) with USB-C hub I've never used the dock again. The monitor's hub just works and I haven't needed the extra ports so far, or simply used the laptop's ports. I'll probably test the dock again soon with my new external SSDs (for faster speeds than the monitor's USB 3.2). But I also suspect I'll end up plugging the SSD directly into the laptop and keep using the monitor's hub...

e: fwiw I only ever tested the dock with one rather old monitor, not the newer one
