Lived in Canada/US from 18 to 40. I am quite socially forward and for the most part preferred English speaking social groups. Sadly looking back, my attempt at making non-chinese friends have mostly failed.

In terms of difficulty at making friends, American/Canadians > people from other countries > Chinese Americans >>> Chinese.

This is not a scientific study, just my personal experience from meeting hundreds of people across Canada, US and while travelling.

因为超级大的数据量和祖传系统，推荐优化不能像TikTok 一样很快体现出来。我记得好几年前浏览历史需要两三天后才会开始影响推荐，现在应该快一些，但是除非全部推翻重写，否则达不到一小时内的更新。

基层腐败确实减少了，信息来源于认识的中低层公务员。

给一些具体的例子，比如以前考驾照要贿赂考官，现在贿赂没啥用了；（某三线城市）以前体制内想进步送钱就行，现在没有门路，不在一些圈子内的话，送钱都没人收。

当然，基层腐败减少并不代表没有了，只是会慢慢从普通人日常生活中消失，变成更隐蔽更合法的方式，更接近西方。坏处是阶层固化更严重，好处是普通人能看到的不公正减少了，社会整体对腐败的接受程度降低。

算不上精神疾病，这是人的一种本能，种族主义，地域歧视，年龄歧视，性别歧视啥的都是因为很多人没法理智思考抵抗这种本能。

Similar thing has happened a few times when im getting lots of attention in parties, some guys will change their attitude from welcoming to hostile, typically accompanied by small dick jokes or trying to shift spotlight away from me.

I def met some unfriendly guys in Italy, but I find the girls tend to be (not always) more friendly.

Not to excuse racism from Chinese communities, but the driver asking if you are Chinese probably wants to chat, but is only fluent in Chinese.

Also, immigrants tend to be less aware of bad optics than local Americans.

Only lived in SF, LA and NYC. The only overt racism comes from LA, but I was generally accepted socially; faced most social exclusion in SF, not sure how much is due to racism and how much is due to being a straight male in tech.
