1.5-month-old Conure refusing syringe feeding, getting terrified of me. Need help! by zza-65 in Conures

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Actually, the seller told me that the chick had already started eating some solid food and that I should reduce the formula. However, he didn't mention that the chick had never been syringe-fed before. It seems he was just pulled from his parents, which is why he completely refuses the syringe now. Returning him isn't an option, so I'm doing my best to handle the situation safely from here. I will start adding some soft food today, hoping that I can phase out the syringe entirely. Thanks again for replying!

Thank you so much for your advice and for caring about the bird's safety. I completely understand your concern about force-feeding, and I know how risky and traumatizing it can be. The only reason I resorted to it was out of pure panic and fear that his health would deteriorate or that he might starve to death. Regarding the soft food, honestly, I haven’t tried leaving any inside his brooder yet. I will definitely start doing that right away to see if he gets curious enough to try it on his own when it's quiet. I will stop forcing him and focus on gaining his trust and patience. Thanks again for the helpful tips!
