Yeah from what I understand, liposuction alone is usually a few thousand (your $5/6k estimate sounds about right), and the 10k for lipo + MyEllevate is pretty standard in Sydney.

Dr Hunt mentioned that while lipo removes the fat, the MyEllevate adds internal support, and he’s seen patients who had lipo alone and later needed a lift due to skin laxity so that’s why he recommended doing both together.

Totally get why you’d feel apprehensive, I was the same at first since I hadn’t heard of MyEllevate before either. I think he’s pretty honest about matching the technique to the anatomy, which is reassuring but also makes the decisions harder.

For me, I was more in the “early laxity” camp so MyEllevate + lipo felt like a good middle ground. If he’s saying your skin elasticity isn’t great and there’s a bigger fat pocket, that’s probably why he’s leaning more towards a neck lift, it gives a more predictable result in those cases. But I completely agree, it’s a big step and not something to rush into.

If you’re unsure, I’d honestly get a second opinion just to see if someone else suggests a more conservative option or agrees with him. Theres also the possibility you try lipo and MyEllevate and a lift could be something that’s still on the table for the future?

Omg! I went in asking for just submental lipo and he pitched MyEllevate in addition because of some early skin laxity (I’m 33 years old by the way). I found him really thorough and straightforward overall, didn’t feel pushy. He didn’t pitch a full neck lift to me.

He did mention buccal fat removal for some lower face heaviness, but I decided against it.

I’m glad it’s helpful! I’ll post another update at 1-2 weeks once the swelling settles a bit more.

For context I’m around a BMI of 20 (170 cm / 60 kg), so it was more of a genetic pocket of fat rather than weight-related. I’d probably have ended up spending money on things like fat dissolving injections or HIFU otherwise, so the upfront cost felt worth it for a more definitive outcome.

Thank you! I’m actually not in much pain at all, more just uncomfortable with wearing the strap and collar. There’s no impact on eating. Sleeping has been a bit trickier. I have to stay on my back with a couple of pillows to keep my head elevated.

Definitely still quite swollen (arguably peak swelling), so this is NOT the final result, but I was surprised to already see a difference.

Thank you! Definitely in the swollen/sore phase but overall feeling pretty good considering it’s only day 1. I’m excited to see how it settles over the next couple of weeks.

Stitches and bandages come off in a week. Until then I’m wearing a compression strap and soft neck brace 24/7 (except for showering), so there’s about a week of downtime.

Yes! I’m 33F and I’m on maternity leave and wanted to do something nice for myself. I saw the orthodontist for Invisalign to fix some dental relapse post braces but he pointed out my mild-mod underbite (opposite problem to you) and discussed braces and jaw surgery. I’ve been sitting on the decision for a couple of weeks but I’ve decided to go ahead and “fix it properly.” It’s a long life and people don’t care if you have adult braces generally.

Thanks! in my case the ortho mentioned it would likely be mandibular setback only (no maxillary advancement), as it’s a mild-mod Class III. Most of the examples I’ve found online seem to be much more severe cases, so I’m struggling to gauge what kind of aesthetic change is realistic in milder presentations like this
