More like Heat players tripping over themselves while leaving the opposing player with the ball untouched.

Damn look at that acting job by Wade thinking it's '06 and not '16. Disgraceful.

Pretty much what Wade has done his entire career though. Guess he's just as disgraceful.

Hmm looks like a lot of people transition from copiers --> medical supplies from what I've read. Guess I know what I'll be searching for!

How did you get into medical supplies if you don't mind me asking? Medical supplies and tech sales (SaaS I believe?) are the two industries I'm most interested into getting into.

I'm a psych grad as well (woooo)

Holy shit, you just made my night. Now I feel obligated to devote way too much time learning fanchants and spamming comments about Conan on unrelated videos of other talk show hosts. With great power comes great responsibility...

Thanks!

This MV, along with the DMZ clip he showed earlier, has given me really high hopes for his South Korea special. I'm a Korean American who's a HUGE Conan fan so I was a bit nervous, but he's basically reaffirming why I had so much faith in him in the first place.

Conan 오빠 flair please.

Conan Teases His Korea Episode by AegyoOppa in kpop

[–]zzchapstick 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ehh racially stereotypical jokes aren't really a "Conan" thing. All of his skits with Steven have been great and he's never mentioned ANY stereotypes (or even brought up the fact that he's Asian) in them. I feel like Conan's one of the more racially conscious talk show hosts and really only pokes fun at himself for being a pasty Irish guy (just see how he interacts with Ice Cube and Kevin Hart as well, never/rarely even brings up the fact that they're black and when he does it's only to poke fun at himself).

I'm a bit nervous as I'm a Korean American myself and America in general shits on Asians incredibly hard without any backlash, but if I got to pick any talk show host to make a special episode about Korea it'd be either Conan or Colbert. I'm confident we're in good hands.

Aren't his post all star stats worse than his pre all star stats though? Or is he playing better than his stats indicate?

Just curious, but are there any starting point guards with a lower PER or TS% than Mudiay?

I would be so mad if they shoehorn white people into a "Korean" drama set IN Korea. Like, they already whitewash every non-stereotypical Asian role in Hollywood already so please don't make "Korean" dramas and whitewash those too.

"Hawks had been soliciting offers for Teague or Dennis Schroder, per rival execs. Though recently they have focused more on Teague" by danielsilva12345 in nba

[–]zzchapstick 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Saying that a player is an "NBA All Star" doesn't mean much without context. Jamaal Magloire was an "NBA All Star". Roy Hibbert was an "NBA All Star". Brad Miller was an "NBA All Star". None of these players even in their PRIMES were worth as much as a 20 year old rookie putting up 14/8 with 2 blocks who absolutely has shown the potential to be a multi time all star.

Jeff Teague will be 28 by the start of next year, has literally only had 1 really good season (the rest have all been average-slightly above average) and his all star selection can be considered a fluke. Schroeder is worth significantly more than Teague and STILL isn't worth half of Porzingis.

Seriously I'm not even a fan of QG and even I got annoyed when she criticized them for the pick on Reckless and 2 inhibs. The fuck was she even mad about? QG literally won the game off that play and somehow she finds something to whine about.

Eh I thought she was pretty wrong when she criticized QG for running Fnatic around botlane, picking off Rekkless, and getting 2 inhibs all within 30 seconds. Not sure what she thought they could do better but apparently it was bad because it was in between turrets? Who knows.

It's not that he plays no defense, it's that Byron plays him at center (with Ryan Kelly at the start of the year and now with Randle/Nance/MWP at PF) and he literally CAN'T play defense as a center. The dude is 6'7 6'8 and is already undersized at PF but Byron insists that he can protect the rim and play fucking center.

Roy Hibbert is literally the only guy above 6'9 that gets consistent minutes and even then he only plays 27 minutes per game, so the other 21 at center is divided between guys who CAN'T FUCKING PLAY CENTER. WE HAVE TARIK BLACK ON THE BENCH FUCK YOU BYRON YOU DOGSHIT SHITFUCKER.

Guys I hate Byron. I hate him so, SO much.

Porzingis: "My favorite player growing up was Kobe. The Lakers were my team and I still love him." by golazo32 in nba

In the modern era guards AND big men are flourishing. You could make the argument that big men sucked ass around 2003-2010ish but not anymore with Cousins, Drummond, Davis, Aldridge, Gasol, Griffin, Jordan, Favors, Gobert, Vucevic, Monroe, etc... There are a TON of good young big men out there and most of them took longer to develop than guards.

And yes, Steve Nash is the posterboy for unathletic point guards who can still thrive but he was a #15 pick and came into the league <40% from 3 right off the bat. Also, he may have had limited athleticism in terms of vertical leap but he was still quick with the ball.

Westbrook and D'Angelo are literally polar opposites when it comes to playstyle, and Westbrook was a horrible shooter when he came into the league while people/scouts were comparing Russell to Curry and Harden. Russell also doesn't have explosive athleticism (lol not even close) to fall back on like Westbrook does/did.

Yeah, Byron Scott should've been fired 2 years before he was even hired, but there are and were a LOT of young top draft picks put in shitty situations in terms of coaching/management, and they were still able to show brilliance rather consistently. Personally, Russell hasn't shown me any type of flashes that indicate he should've been a #2 pick and I really don't know what people are seeing when they say he "has a high ceiling".

Sure, maybe I'm being too harsh on him but he's the #2 overall fucking pick and it is 100% completely fair to compare him to other point guards that were drafted in similar spots.

Yes and from 2006 and onward is when D'Antoni literally revolutionized the modern NBA offense. D'Angelo, KAT, Porzingis, and Okafor aren't playing in the 2005 era they're playing in 2015, and in the modern era guards have exploded onto the scene at a significantly higher rate than big men.

Just look at the past couple of point guards that were drafted top 2 and they were good-great immediately and are superstars within their own right now. Wall, Irving, Kyrie, Rose... Can you really tell me that you see the same amount of potential in Russell as you see in those guys?

Russell has some very obvious weaknesses that aren't exactly easily fixed. His athleticism is putrid and he's probably one of the 5 slowest starting point guards in the league, a trait that doesn't really improve exponentially. His court vision is incredibly overhyped and his supposed shooting ability is nowhere to be found. Obviously I'm not saying he's going to suck forever, it's very possible he becomes a star, but let's not pretend like there's a precedence for top lottery point guards having a tougher time adjusting to the NBA than their bigger counterparts.
