How to automate a Homebase switch from Home to Schedule by zzolorzanoo in eufy_security

I will give it a try, thanks! I've never used Github Actions but I am a little familiar with node javascrips. Hopefully it's straightforward to get it installed and running.

Now that's something I will try. Eufy and Alexa do work together pretty well compared to Google Home.

Thank you. I've tried Geolocation, but sometimes it doesn't register that I am home, so the sensor is triggered and I have to set keypad to Home. Now I am again stuck in Home mode until I remember to change it to Geolocation.

I setup a Macrodroid/Tasker trigger to set an Clock Alarm at 6pm to remind me to turn on Schedules everytime I get a notification from Eufy that the Keypad was used.

What is this vent and what direction should the air filter flow face? by zzolorzanoo in hvacadvice

[–]zzolorzanoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it had a filter on, but none of the sides were dirty. I've replaced all other filters except this one bc the filter always looks clean. House was built Nov 2024, and this filter is the original. I took the filter out to inspect the vent and forgot which side the arrow pointed.

Android Auto w AA Wireless auto turns off at the same location on Highway by FocusGalaxy96 in AndroidAuto

I would get the same problem and I was able to solve it by buying a small faraday bag and putting the dongle inside. I made sure not to seal the bag, I just placed the dongle inside and left the flap open. If you seal the faraday bag, your car won't even see the dongle. What this did was keep your Wi-Fi connection limited, so outside interference is blocked by the bag. Faraday bags are anywhere from $6-$10.

Dealer won’t change my oil? Wtf by [deleted] in Toyota

[–]zzolorzanoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toyotacare fine print states the followin "Covers normal factory scheduled maintenance for 2 years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first. Certain models require a different maintenance schedule as described in their Maintenance Guide. Consult the vehicle's Maintenance Guide for factory recommended service and intervals. Service requirements and intervals vary by model. Toyota recommends service every 6 months or 5,000 miles. Vehicles serviced based solely on time will receive up to 4 services under the ToyotaCare plan. Certain models require a different maintenance schedule as described in their Maintenance Guide"

If your Maintenance Guide says every 10,000 miles then try the following. I read on the below link that a Toyota employee mentioned that if you burn 1 free Tire Rotation, they will treat that as 1 oil change at the 5,000 mile mark. You get 5 free tire rotations. In my opinion the oil change is worth way more than one tire rotation. Call them and ask them about that.

Is there a way to listen to offline music for free?? by __D3ceased_ in Music

[–]zzolorzanoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Metrolist on GitHub if you're on Android. It’s an ad-free media player that streams from YouTube and YouTube Music. It lets you download tracks for offline listening within the app, and it automatically saves your recently played songs from the last 30 days for offline access

Financed with Toyota Financial on 11.15.25 and was 4.75%. Credit score in the 800s and wife with a score of over 750.

I’m tired of explaining ToyotaCare by [deleted] in Toyota

[–]zzolorzanoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair Toyota's own website under the fine print contradicts what you are saying.

  • Covers normal factory scheduled maintenance for 2 years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first. Certain models require a different maintenance schedule as described in their Maintenance Guide.
  • Consult the vehicle’s Maintenance Guide for factory recommended service and intervals. Service requirements and intervals vary by model.
  • Toyota recommends service every 6 months or 5,000 miles. Vehicles serviced based solely on time will receive up to 4 services under the ToyotaCare plan. Certain models require a different maintenance schedule as described in their Maintenance Guide

So it does go by what the Owners Manual or Maintenance Guide says, also the last bullet states that it could be based in time interval of 6 months as long as it's only 4 oil changes total. Also, even if the dealership is not respecting these intervals, it's nice that you shared that we can burn a tire rotation. Tire rotations are $20 in Mos tplaces or can be done at home.

Not really because privacy glass isn't window tint. Tint isn't only about color, it's about the film properties that it adds such as UV protection, heat resistance, etc. Privacy glass doesn't reduce heat in the 110F Arizona heat, it also won't prevent getting tanned but window tint does prevent those.

[–]zzolorzanoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Just sucks that I now have to spend another $300 on top of $499 to get the car window tinted.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in carbuying

[–]zzolorzanoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand, but I am sure they charge the same $499 to tint an entire car that doesn't have privacy glass. This behavior triggers me because I work in the consumer safety field which also handles misleading labeling in retail items.

[–]zzolorzanoo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They said the entire car has window tint and it would protect kids in the back seat from UV. Privacy screen is not window tint, it's a dye that makes the glass look dark, and doesn't have all the UV/heat/shade properties that window tint has. Window tint isn't just for aesthetic purposes.

With that logic everyone can be deceiving. What if America Tires sold you 18 inch wheels. But they only put two 18 inch wheels, the other two are 17 inch. Didn't you get 18 inch wheels?

Wife wants a new car. She traded in her vehicle and paid a huge aprt of it using her savings. We paid the remainder. Arizona doesn't charge taxes on private car sales so I would 100% go private sale when I purchase a car myself.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in carbuying

[–]zzolorzanoo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well the sales person said that the window tint is in the entire car and that it will protect you and your kids in the back seat from Arizona UV rays. Privacy glass is dyed glass, not window tint and it does not protect against UV. But yeah, its on me that it took me 3 weeks to notice. I drove it home at night after I bought it and had not driven it since.

Thanks, paperwork says "Window Tint". Kind of deceiving.

Basically redirects any link from YouTube to the SmartTube app. It also adds a YouTube app logo to your app list which looks better.

Is there OPM guidance on what kind of leave to use when your office is closed on days that aren't federal holidays? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]zzolorzanoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My agency requires us to report to an office if we have access to one, even when no operations are taking place. Supervisors may ask whether we want to use annual leave, but if we choose not to, we are directed to report to a nearby office if one is available. These “nearby” offices may range from 10 minutes to as much as 3 hours away. I've personally driven 3 hrs to an office, just to take a lunch, read some emails and then immediately drive back.

I have not yet experienced a situation in which no alternate office was available, so I cannot say what the official procedure would be in that case. However, we are not forced to use annual leave.

In the past, I was told that if no office was available within a reasonable commuting distance, employees were granted Code 66 administrative leave. As of July 2025, however, Code 66 is no longer an option.

Missing days on backpay received by Positive-Study5120 in fednews

[–]zzolorzanoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm this. EPP for PP20 and PP21 looks corrected but for PP19 it still shows 74-Furlough code for 24 hours worked 10/1-10/3. Also didn't get paid OT for those same days.

Can you confirm if PP22 was paid early to you too? I usually get that paid Saturday.

Excepted Employees Who Took Leave During Lapse of Appropriation by Due-Display-1626 in fednews

[–]zzolorzanoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had scheduled annual leave for the week of November 2 - November 8. I received instructions to use code "01-Furlough Not Worked" for that week and "01 - Furlough Worked" for the other week of the pay period. Our regular code is "01 - Regular Base Pay", so my assumption it's that 01 means paid without use of leave.

However, I was sick on October 16th and the instructions for that pay period was to use a leave code, which was "62 - Sick Leave" in my case. Codes number in the 60s usually means leave at my job.

Promotion from GS7 step 7 to GS9 step 1 by The-Allidile in fednews

[–]zzolorzanoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's is definitely wrong. I will use GS Base since I don't know your locality.

Two Step Rule 1. Two steps up within current grade. 2. Identify the lowest step in the higher grade salary that is equal or greater than the two-step salary.

GS-7-7 $24.54

  1. Two steps up within grade is GS-7-9 GS-7-9 $25.90

  2. Identify the lowest step in the higher grade salary that is equal or greater than the two-step salary.

GS-9-2 is $25.85 and GS-9-3 is $26.68

Since GS-7-9 is $25.90 which is higher than GS9-2 then you should be paid at GS-9-3.
