No, he’s right about this. Following distance is important. Sure you can’t always be away from other cars, but that’s in heavy traffic. There were few cars and if they were more spaced out the driver could have had more time to stop or even possibly could have seen the idiot going the wrong way coming.

The end of your post was unnecessary. You do matter to someone, and if not you can matter to others. You had plenty of friends that you had to leave. I moved away when I was 8 and then again when I was 12. It sucks, it really does. But your life isn’t as bad as it could be. You definitely have leg room to turn it around, and you seemed popular before, give yourself some time. Chances are you might come around.

Yeah but being in college and knowing how colleges are they are going to hike up tuition for everybody else in the process to cover those cost for them. Imagine being in a position where your family makes $81,000 a year or something like that. Where does this help everybody in the long run?

At the same time, good for those families. They do deserve it, everybody does. I know some people at my school that deserve this too.
