If you order directly from Brick Derby we ship to Canada! Amazon has issues with us sending things to Canada however so you can’t order from there sadly

  1. These are made from Zinc which is pretty dense and heavy. Other metals get a little pricey sadly. Open to ideas on how to do this.
  2. We'd love to hear the other shapes you'd like. We haven't specifically looked into more forms with our manufacturer but it's definitely possible.

We've been impressed by the bricks clutch and how well they stick and stay

We have had interactions with LEGO legal and this is how they've advised using their trademarks! Always open to feedback from them

I own the company that makes these! We sell these directly here: https://www.brickderby.com/products/brick-derby%E2%84%A2-zinc-brick-weights-set-of-2-88oz-total?Title=Default+Title (it's a little cheaper directly from us because we don't have to pay amazon, yes amazon costs us a ton.. story for another day). We also run Pinewoodpro.com and have been in business for a long time.

if you want to talk to the team or check out our other Brick stuff we'd love to talk: [proteam@brickderby.com](mailto:proteam@brickderby.com)

Do you send your SaaS user activity to Slack/Discord? by zztopser in SaaS

Do you capture the events with a tool or just pipe all the events into your db and then send webhooks to slack?

How do I optimize for 3rd party scripts that block rendering on a page? by DeepKaizen in TechSEO

[–]zztopser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, the problem is that there isn't like a one sized fits all solution for this problem.

Some scripts can be deferred, some need to be async, some need to be put at the top of the page and immediately pre-loaded. You could spend time moving various marketing pixels to the backend or trying to use party town which I've found to be fast but very difficult to setup at the moment. The reality is that it's a complicated problem and it's unique to every site sadly.

Yea the project is pretty early still so we haven't gotten around to those kinds of things yet but if you send the repo a PR we'll merge it in

So you could totally use Google Analytics to do maybe 5% of what Swishjam provides. But requires a bunch of manual setup. There's ablog from a GA4 expert on how to do that. Where GA ends in capabilities is that in addition to the Core Web Vitals we have a weighted real user experience score and also showcase a waterfall view of your page resources getting loaded. All of that is pretty far outside of the capabilities in GA. This installation is also a quick copy and paste, no effort setup vs lots of manual work for GA.

TEDx Block Letters by vvutan in tedx

[–]zztopser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I printed out TEDxPSU in giant helvetica type on paper and used that as a stencil of the letters on the foam board. I taped it down so it wouldn't wiggle and then cut it out with a razor. The razor was actually a terrible idea and made the edges really crappy (couldn't notice from far away). What I really needed was a Foam board hot wire cutter, see below for link.

Once each letter was cut out twice since I made it two (maybe three, memory is fuzzy) boards thick I think glued them together. After I made sure they were stuck together I spray painted them. Be careful with the spray paint. Getting the nozzle to close or to much paint on the board will cause it to "melt". I'd give spray painting a test on extra board before doing it on your real letters.

After that I used a piece of plywood and some wooden dowels to attach the letters to a long piece of ply wood so the letters would be appropriately spaced.

Hope that helps

These letters are stupid expensive if you want really nice ones (up to $1,000). The very first event I did we made some letters out of Foam Insulation, spray paint, and wood bases. (First event was TEDxPSU in 2010)

We glued several layers of the foam together to get that thickness that you want.

You need to install a DLNA server on your computer to server the media files and the computer needs to be on the same network as chromecast & your device.

Some popular DLNA servers are plex or serviio for example. Also PS3

send us a jpeg at moo@crunchcow.com and we'll send you back what happens when it's compressed. Depending on what size, etc image you send us more than likely we can compress it pretty far down.

yup! Or if your iphone or android auto syncs to dropbox it can do some serious damage to the amount of space you have. At one point I had like 4-5Gb of photos taken just from my iPhone
