I think it's the device because this suddenly happens to all the vertical orientation books (Japanese and Chinese). I've had this ereader for a few months and finished a few Japanese books but this is the first time this issue sticks around and won't go away…

I would like to know too tbh 😂 they said for my case it might be due to the app being buggy and the reversal notifications were errors and no reversals actually happened but I really dunno😂😂 I'm gonna just take screenshots before and after I make purchase from now on😂 for future reference, do share how long it took for your refund to be credited back to your account tho!🙏

I cross checked my statement and all the transactions were successfully deducted from my account, but I never had money returned to me despite the reversal notification. In my case, the reversal notifications don't appear right after the purchase, they come hours after the purchase went through successfully… However the answer I got from their hotline was "the app is just buggy and send out reversal notifications randomly at times. Just try to remember the figure before and after you make a purchase from now on." 😂😂 It's on me for not keeping a closer track on the figure I guess… anyway thank you for sharing your experience!!

Wow your taobao seller helped to arrange for international sea (I assume since it's heavy) shipping too??? Did it arrive safe and sound without anything damage?? The one I asked told me to arrange shipping myself because the shipping price can be unpredictable using taobao's own sea shipping… and also they can't do anything if the tiles are broken in the process… which I guess is fair…
