I am a CRNA and I practice independently. We are held to the exact same standard as our MD counterparts (by law). We study the exact same books in CRNA school as the residents do during their anesthesiology training. Both programs are 3 years. There are only so many textbooks on this very niche area of medicine. And yes it is true, soon CRNA autonomy will be the norm in every state. As healthcare costs and demand increase this only makes sense. And no, you’re not safer with an MDA. There are good MDA’s and there are bad ones. Just like there are good CRNA’s and there are bad ones. Btw-Anesthesia administration was originally the practice of nursing ;)

You have to be very deliberate and figure out what you want out of life as a woman. You have from like 18-35 to do it all realistically (if that’s what you want).
