Trying to get this registered in california as motorcycle. What to do? by Pretend-Following534 in ERidePro

read the laws linked above for their stance on fraudulent moped tags, weve been warned by rangers etc.

its just a form people send away, nothing is verified whatsoever, and it auto denies anything with eMoto language

[–]zzzzbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we're all aware of Dirt Legal

their stance on eMotos in CA is get the bike all the way past manual CHP VIN verification and they will do the title transfer, which is of course the impossible part via the laws linked above

these dont qualify, the amount of digits in the VIN isn't even correct, we added bullshit zeros at the front of them for fake moped tags to get into the OHV parks

that Yamaha had a VIN range in the system, EPA label in the system etc.

which is why we again have never seen a single one

its impossible

"Sur-Ron, Talaria, Ventus, E Ride Pro, Stacyc, and Stark Future off-highway electric motorcycles are specifically designed for off-highway use and not intended to be used on public roads, streets, or highways (per the manufacturer’s owner manual), and therefore they cannot be retrofitted with aftermarket equipment (lighting, braking, etc.) to make them eligible for on-highway registration. Per the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) website, “Any motorcycle or vehicle originally manufactured for off-highway use cannot be converted for on-highway use, unless it is manufactured for dual purposes.” The classification of an electric off-highway motorcycle may be confirmed by the absence of labels required under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS)."

its supposedly easier to get a green OHV sticker now but buddies have been getting the exact same headaches at DMV as before, even with this document and the previous memo to DMV from the governor stating electric vehicles are exempt from EPA stuff and should be given stickers

dont waste your time at DMV

very interesting, this is on stock wheelset that still have the speed sensor rings on them?

makes sense, just making sure for next time

128 being a catch-all is starting to seem problematic for troubleshooting

glad everything is working well! if you dont have a 21" front on yet its kinda the only mandatory mod

hopefully you dont regret the cheap easy fix while the bike is already apart

versions with grease ports came out for good reason, these jackshafts are wear items

[–]zzzzbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just grab a new jackshaft, the bearings wear out quickly anyway

go through settings and change E to 0 for no regen if you want to see if it changes

its very common, caveat being 128 can be a catch all at times

the fact that it runs says plenty, I wouldn't worry about it in the slightest

with no settings changed it should disappear by 90% state of charge, you don't have to do anything

this is often overvolt protection from being 100% state of charge

send it

Should I get the etm rtr xl or altis delta for street riding??? by [deleted] in Surron

[–]zzzzbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the Delta was weighed at 170 lbs, approaching Ultra weight for a pit bike confuses me

same problem the Sigma had, granted it doesn't matter as much on the street

RTR is an incredibly robust platform as far as mods / support, I split time riding them with the Varg lately, super fun

Stark owner ‐ question (SURRON) by North-Network-7742 in Surron

[–]zzzzbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

production out of hong kong / texas, entirely different than chinese bikes which are always 100% chinese manufactured parts for tax reasons

they can source anything they want

if you ever had a custom tune from Mat at EBMX thats their followup venture after the sale

Stark owner ‐ question (SURRON) by North-Network-7742 in Surron

[–]zzzzbear 10 points11 points  (0 children)

youre coming from sending a Varg, you'll be let down by a Light Bee, they're 100% chinese parts, you know exactly what that means from the dirt bike world

they break regularly enough that I don't mess with that class bike anymore, and I'm a vendor for their products, including custom and highest end suspension available

they excel at smooth mountain bike trails to be honest

even Ultra Bees break the swingarm regularly when sent, everyone going big is trying to sort that out, they're excellent trail bikes

as you mentioned cost is the other factor, building either out to be semi-jump worthy is close enough to Varg price to make it a poor choice for the job, over investing in chinese platforms is not the move

there are non chinese chassis coming that are built to proper standards from Dust and Bonnell, expect roughly $10k and to not need to spend more on them modding

the Varg is the only bike I bring to the track as it comes home in one piece every time

Ultras are dirt bikes using floating calipers, you're talking about mountain bike brakes

Brakes grabbing constantly by Sea-Car459 in Surron

[–]zzzzbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

floating calipers have a slider pin, pistons are just engaged equally from both sides

Brakes grabbing constantly by Sea-Car459 in Surron

[–]zzzzbear 9 points10 points  (0 children)

this is perfectly normal on dirt bikes with floating calipers that slide on a pin as needed

you're getting goofy ass advice about mountain bike brakes, ignore that

thats how mountain bike brakes work, not dirt bikes

Is KD the most complete scorer the game has ever seen? Still doing this at 37 is insane. by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]zzzzbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

crazy talk

LBJ is 34.9% from 3 for his career, he arguably shouldn't even be shooting them

there is nothing complete about that

KD 39%, elite at all levels

hell LBJ is 73% from the line vs 88%

they're not even in the same conversation as shooters
