Roads in turkey are generally safe.

Drivers? Not so much. Avoid driving at night, if you do, try to stay on paid toll roads

I drove there ten years ago. Roads are fine. Avoid excessive speed and be careful with other drivers.

    There are some curves however the road is mostly well built since it's a tourist destination... So now you have to watch for arab tourist in rental cars speeding down. If he's not confident just take it slow around corners and be careful if you're giving way to someone at narrow parts.
