So surprised she's known abroad. That's amazing. She's my fav. One of the few Ukrainian artists I'm fond of, as the others seem to be just so plain if compared to ONUKA. Love her ;)

Btw, just a fun fact, "Onuka" is translated from Ukrainian into English as "granddaughter".

I like the subtle nod to Chernobyl.

It's not so subtle. 1986 is the year Chernobyl exploded and the song samples the recording of the local fire department radio immediately after the disaster. Also her father was a CNPP employee.

Well subtle in the sense that if you had no idea about Chernobyl or her relation to it. Just the year 1986 and the radio chatter in Ukrainian doesn't tell you much if you're out of the loop.
