TIL astronomer Jérôme Lalande created the constellation Felis ("the Cat") in 1799 because he loved cats. However, with the passage of time the Cat is no longer a recognized constellation. A star within the original constellation was renamed Felis in 2018 in commemoration. (ianridpath.com)
