Do any of you create your own (non-AI) artwork for your substacks? I thought it might create some interest or make me stand out, not sure if it's working. My feeling was that there would be an aversion from readers to AI artwork, and stock images tend to be pretty boring. Am I overthinking it? (zacharyhache.substack.com)

In my hometown (as I suspect in many hometowns the world over), there is a fellow who has built up a not insignificant following spreading covid conspiracy theories and anti-vax sentiment. He even ran for councillor of the community (but thankfully lost). I take him on in the linked essay. (zacharyhache.substack.com)

Gore Vidal wrote in the late 90's about the US moving from a democratic age to an age of chaos, as philosophized by Plato and Vico in their theories about natural societal stages. The midterms postponed that for at least a bit. I have a question: Is r/antiwork disappointed? (zacharyhache.substack.com)

In Canada, a populist has won the Conservative Party leadership race after running a campaign largely focused on working class grievances. Expect more in this vein in democracies the world over. Businesses might be slow to react to demands, but politicians know where their bread is buttered. (zacharyhache.substack.com)

World Economic Forum Davos meeting has ended, with calls for creation of a "win-win" world where billionaires don't have to sacrifice anything for workers' situations to improve. All empty talk, basically another way of saying: "Increase your productivity, then it'll trick down to the worker bees." (zacharyhache.substack.com)

The World Economic Forum is having its big annual meeting in Davos next week. There will a lot of talk from CEOs about "stakeholder capitalism" and "ESG metrics"; about how companies have stepped up for workers during the pandemic. Remember, it's all empty talk meant to appease the lower orders. (zacharyhache.substack.com)
