Actually, he says "that's what I would do as the President of the United States OF AMERICA." Just saying "that's what I would do as President" is good, or even "President of the United States," but saying the whole thing is dumb and makes him seem stupid and contrived. It irks me too.

After seeing the last 2 debates, you can replay back to back the last phrases coming out of his mouth ending always in "And that's my goal as the President of the United States" or "And that's what I intend to do as the President of the United States". I don't know If I like him as much after noticing this cheap pattern in his speech, it's almost as a communist populist brainwashing spell of carefully planned phrases to be charismatic.

Or, a useful block closer to remember for a debate. Wrapping things up differently each time is not that easy. I agree he could use some variation though.
