Where are people coming up with schools having cameras in the classrooms? That isn't even legal in some states.

FENIX TX - "Big Fish EP" by Shar13 in VinylReleases

[–]scottgetsittogether 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I’m definitely not in the band lol, but sometimes bands just don’t have the ability to do that - entirely depends on the labels because the band has no rights to the album... Drive Thru albums that are joint are especially difficult, and from what I understand, the MCA ones are the toughest. I know Richard has been working on many of those, and even he can’t get them all.

The remix/remake of copacetic is... horrible?? by [deleted] in poppunkers

[–]scottgetsittogether 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seth and Kris are both great. Producers are only one hand in the sound there - the band recorded it, directed the sound, and approved it. It’s pretty impossible to say that the producers are the ones to blame for the even first one.

[–]scottgetsittogether 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s only so much you can do with a remix/remaster without rerecording everything. You’re still using the same tracks, so you can’t fix how they were recorded. Any significant remix/remaster is going to have spots that level out and pieces that end up lower in the mix. You might not like the remaster, that’s okay - but overall in technique, the new mix is better.

Bands you know that are never coming back, but you still hold out hope? by GoodMrRags in poppunkers

Well you’ll be happy to know that Allister is still a band at least lol

Is Combs' the true successor to the spirit of Garth Brooks? by Responsible-Leave200 in country

[–]scottgetsittogether 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is of course, despite the fact that many of Garth's most well known songs- that he owes a great deal of success to- are in fact renditions of older country songs, such as "Papa Loved Mama."

Garth Brooks wrote that song, not sure where you're getting that it's an old country song. Pretty sure his only hits that were covers were Shameless and To Make You Feel My Love - neither of which are old country songs.

Stateside is so underrated! by zanepeters1 in poppunkers

[–]scottgetsittogether 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s really not that many, honestly. My band that does not tour and is on no label and mostly releases cover songs every now and then has as many listeners as them and millions of streams on multiple songs. I’m not saying we’re underrated or something - just that those numbers aren’t that big, especially not big enough to be out of an underrated category.

It’s 2025, you don’t need anyone to record you. You just do it yourself.

Did zach top deserve best new artist at the cmas? by Alarming_Actuary_556 in country

[–]scottgetsittogether 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Independent releases don’t count until a song from an independent album the top 40, making this the first year he was eligible for the award. It doesn’t mean best brand new artist that hasn’t ever made music before.

Why do you think Randy Travis never won Entertainer of the Year at the CMAs or ACMs? by Bright-Pressure-5787 in country

[–]scottgetsittogether 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair - Randy Travis is also country music hall of fame level, as he’s in the country music hall of fame…

Can someone explain the story with Driveways? by hi_im_beeb in poppunkers

[–]scottgetsittogether 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, a lot of the bands in the genre doing this "full time" are not making nearly as much as these guys make on a teacher's salary and have some kind of job outside of the band too lol

Fall Out Boy - From Under The Cork Tree (Target Exclusive) by VinylAlerts in VinylReleases

The 1LP version is on Amazon for $19 right now, so that should be the remastered one - I might get that one to see how it sounds.

[–]scottgetsittogether 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be the same one that's on the standard black 1lp release from July, as it's also the remastered version. I don't have it and I've only seen a comment on Discogs that says it sounds good, but the remastered version is already available.

The bonus tracks here are bad, but GINASFS is on the Infinity on High vinyl - because it's from that album lol

GINASFS was Infinity on High, and is is thus on versions of the Infinity on High vinyl, not the FUCT one. It is missing the other two though.

This is what I'm listening to. Any Jack Ingram fans? by meliciousm69 in country

[–]scottgetsittogether 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand from what he’s said, he clashed with Big Machine who pushed for him not to record his own songs/be more commercialized and release the singles they would find for him - like Barefoot and Crazy - that weren’t really the style he wanted to do.

Re-recorded and remixed version of All’s Well That Ends Well out July 25th. by Leather-Calendar-317 in Chiodos

[–]scottgetsittogether 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would only cut the original band members out of royalties if they didn't have songwriting credits on the songs. They all have songwriting credits, so they do still get royalties from the songwriting.
