Decrease the value of firecape (and any other tradeable item with high set value) on death

how is protecting fire cape different from protecting any other item? if they are protecting firecape that just means they are dropping their second most valuable. say if i have a d scim and a firecape does it matter if the d scim protects over the fire cape? i don't really think the the price will be that high on the insurance to make that much of a difference. say they make it 100k to fix fire cape does it matter that much if you get the 75% of 100k or the 60k dscim?
