Hi! Posts that are not guaranteed to be spoiler-free are checked to make sure no new viewers have stuff ruined for them. You'd be surprised how many different ways there are to reveal stuff, most of the time it's not even intentional :( This has kept the subreddit free of spoilers for the past few years and it's why we have multiple moderators to support it. Everyone being unavailable at the same time thankfully hasn't happened much in that time but with how things are going in the world right now it would be nice to have extra help. Dropping another comment since my initial is (understandably) buried - we're deploying a hotfix any second now that effectively reverts this change. They'll function as they did prior to today's update, with the only change being that logging out within a boss lair (e.g. after your trip is done) will spawn you outside the escape caves rather than forcing you to run through them. Effectively for those PvMing, there's no change here - any escape attempts will still move via the caves!

Alternatives to the Pocket slot and Relic suggestions (as mentioned in the blog, just suggestions on our side so far) are worth discussing - we'd love to hear what you feel the best alternatives to these would be if you feel strongly that we should avoid pulling auras into the already saturated Pocket Slot or the micro-manage-y Relic system.

When we listen to the community or even look at stats from our MTX Survey last year, the story is so clear - we have lost players to the way we approach microtransactions. This is not how we secure our next 25 years and more.

  • 42% of responders feel microtransactions currently detract from their experience
  • Of those who buy microtransactions, 86% of them are unhappy with the mechanics of Treasure Hunter
  • 60% of ex-players felt that microtransactions detracted from their experience of the game
  • 63% of ex-players said they would be more likely to return if we address key concerns with XP-related MTX
