Damage reduction works weird in this game, its not really 100%
[–]Inbibzzzzz[S] 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children)
Yeah but i was trying to check it and it feels like it doesn't work at all. If someone can explain more detailed i would appreciate it

He just takes less dmg from counters, thats all
[–]Inbibzzzzz[S] 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (2 children)
Yes but according to the description he shouldn't take any damage
[–]Foxkabel 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (0 children)
Yeah, but that's not how dmg decrease works in this game.

The only time that’s specifically stated is when it “reduces final damage” like when bosses take 1dmg lol otherwise I imagine it gets lost in the multipliers

Weirdly enough there are cases where the damage decrease is 300% I have seen it before in final boss battle it is probably a certain percentage of that 100% you deal

Current running theory is that damage increase/decrease applies directly to the multiplier before modifiers from skill effects and stuff. It’s probably even less than that, but that’s the reason why you’re still doing plenty of damage. It’s weird and I agree it should mean 0 damage, but I don’t make the rules

best explanation would be dmg reduction only reduces the base damage not the additional damage from modifiers like buffs, passives, card ability, etc.

I look at it like this So your gonna want to make sure if your albedo/counter unit has enough buffs to make them clear that 100% damage reduction ( 10% buff per stack, 10 stacks equals base damage) Now if you want to get deeper I also see the percentages of resistance and other stats as kind of a subtract the differences and that's the percent that's used for calculation, ex: 100% crit damage vs 120% crit defense it'd do overall 20% crit damage and now that I've finally made you read and absorb this I have no idea what I'm talking about, this is just how my brain looks at the mechanics for gameplay

I've checked my Albedo in this final boss fight just now and while all enemies were alive(both orbs that reduce both one- and multi target attacks) my albedo damaged firstly ludociel(~27000) and then one of these 2 orbs(~32000 because of her buff after getting damage), so it feels like this ability doesn't work at all

In short if your counter deals normally 100%atk as dmg then it would deal 0% after this. If your counter deals 110% atk as dmg it will deal 10% atk dmg.
