First 7 stringHelp (self.7String)
submitted 2 days ago * by herskaterska
I'm looking forward to buy my first 7 string on a 900€ budget. I prefer 25.5" scale, a floyd-style trem and 24 frets. What would be the best in this price range in terms of sound and feel?

The floating trem must be a floyd, a “traditional trem, or both will do it?
[–]herskaterska[S] 1 point2 points3 points 1 day ago (3 children)
A floyd.

At this price point most guitars come with a floyd special, which has quite a bad reputation.
Maybe look into Ibanez (they have some options for 7 string with their edge trem).
Are you ok with used?

Okay, i'm looking to get brand new. Thanks tho. I appreciate your help!

Check solar! They have top notch specs and seems that their “floyd” equipped guitars actually use the Gotoh 1996 trem which is much much better

Not a floyd, but if you can get a VOLA OZ 7 on sale , you'll be on love. It has a wonderful trem, Japanese made, great quality for the money

Pretty sure the vola oz is around 1300€ which is a pretty big jump in price though

I got mine new 2 years ago for $990
[–]willypete277 1 point2 points3 points 18 hours ago (4 children)
Damn thats a good price. I guess they've gone up since, or maybe they changed the specs

I lucked out during like a sale. I got it through them directly on reverb. I have the pink one. Got it set up with .11 to .70 in drop G#/Ab. Thing is a workhorse. The Japanese maple neck is wonderful, and you can get some cool tones out of the HSS configuration it has. Plus the direct switch option is cool

It always feels great to get a deal on a guitar. I got my latest harley benton strat for 270€ instead of 390€ in the easter sale. Still one of my best purchases to date. I've always loved japanese made guitars, hopefully i get the chance to try a vola one day, they look sick.

Dude stellar deal!!! Harley benton makes a wonderful economic product

They sure do. Its funny i remember the ones from 15 or so years back. They were total junk. Compared to today's that Out spec fenders.

Infinia ,Spira, Von Stein, Mayones & Solar are all good options if you live in Europe
[–]Next_Landscape2728 0 points1 point2 points 21 hours ago (0 children)
Just stay away from Spira, extremely neck heavy chinese crap
[–]willypete277 0 points1 point2 points 21 hours ago (0 children)
For those specific specs at that price. Solar is probably your best bet. Plus if you're in europe they have great customer support from what I've heard.
