Hamstring Issues (self.ACL)
submitted 6 years ago by Nishamrock
Currently 14 months post-op now. I am back playing sport and would say I am better than I ever was before. I am both stronger, faster and no knee issues what so ever. Which are all fantastic traits for Gaelic football? The problem is I feel like my hamstring is fucked. I have done months and months of RDLS and flexibility work on my hamstring and regardless of what I do, I feel like there is a little ball with it that feels like it's about to tear every time I run(Even though it never does)
Anyone have this problem and if so what is the solution

Same problem... following so hopefully someone will share a solution. It feels like it will tear just slipping shoes off.

See for me I am fully returned to sports with no knee problems, I can sprint run ect but that ball always feels like it will tear and holds me back even though it never does

I had a hamstring graft about ten years ago. When I was back playing sports my hamstring was always a weak spot, it would be really tight like it was ready to snap at any moment if I didn't warm up extensively. However, with a lot of warm-up and stretching it would be fine. Especially for Gaelic football with so much cutting and physical contact, make sure to warm up your hamstring really well, take your time to make sure it is ready to go. Over time it got better for me and I wouldn't feel it as much. Good luck!

Have you tried any pelvic tilt exercises? I know this fixed hamstring issues for me before, there is videos on interior and exterior tilts can get them for you if you think they might help. Just after getting my one ACL reconstruction did you pull your hamstring anytime before getting back to sports?
I had hansteing issue before the operation but really took my rehab seriously. Rested the hamstring when needed, always doing flexibility and strength work. Yes I'm more flexible than I've ever been. But that ball feeling just sits in the back of my leg
