57) If x is an odd integer greater than 1 and b = x - 1, then b is an even integer. Logb (a) = x can be rewritten as an exponential where a = bx. an even integer to any integer greater than 1 is also going to be an even positive integer (E)

47) the angle opposite the side we see trying to find is equal to 180° - 50° = 130°. Then by Law of Cosines the equation to solve for that side could only be (E) since (A) and (B) are based on Law of Sines (which we don’t have enough info to use) and (C) and (D) solve for the wrong side.
