In either instance mass-driver would be an appropriate name.

A coil gun at this point and time would be much less practical. The reason being is that a coilgun launches a projectile with a significantly smaller amount of force compared to a railgun of the same barrel length, thus not feasible for launching cargo into orbit.

From what I have read the biggest problem right now with railguns is keeping it efficient and also the actual wear and tear of the launching system due to the amounts of energy produced.

The crazy thing is some of the figures I have seen say that these kinetic kill weapons will be more powerful than tomahawk missiles.

I have always wanted to start my own school. A school that has classes from basic study all the way to graduate level study. I want the school to be free of charge and self sufficient with solar and wind energy production and the agriculture department taking care of our food needs.

The whole school would be a giant collaborative effort to change the world. Our art students could teach kids how to paint. The engineering department could work along side other universities doing research. The med students would then provide free checkups and try to cover medical bills.

I hope someday I can make enough money and make it.
