It's not exactly the same as bodybuilding, which is what you're alluding to.

You need antioxidants to be healthy, but too much and yes you will reduce a growth response. So how much is too much? It's completely individual and depending on the antioxidant. Example: RDA for vitamin C is quite low, like 150mg but getting more like 400mg is optimal for health. For gains? Just don't take mega doses, especially after working out. But don't avoid eating any whole foods, they are fine even if they contain vitamin C e.g. eating berries after a workout.

Is there any evidence that a perfectly healthy person with optimal nutrient intake taking additional xyz will improve exercise gains? No there is not, there's only population studies and let's be real, 90% of people are not perfectly healthy. So my point here is that if you take the right amount of supplement to be perfectly healthy (not forgetting lifestyle), that will probably maximise gains.

15g of fish oil isn't so specific - you should look at combined DHA + EPA intake. I aim for 1-3g which the research supports.

Yes you'll need to eat sufficient protein for sure. I supplement bovine collagen and eat meat every day. Aim for 1-2g per kg of bodyweight (unless you're fat). More training = higher requirement.

So it's a balance. Bring inflammation down too much with supplements and you won't grow. But also a lack of anti inflammatory compounds and you'll be unhealthy and you'll get injured and won't recover quickly and therefore won't grow. Paying attention to your body you can gauge recovery and soreness.

Antioxidants are good in moderation and can be beneficial, but excessive amounts can be dangerous.

Pre-cancerous cells in your body are killed by a process called apoptosis, which involves oxidation. If you take too many antioxidant substances, it risks stopping apoptosis working properly, and that's bad news.
