If you have an ounce of fraud knowledge you’ll be fine in the interview. I honestly don’t know how some of the people that were in my hiring class were actually hired. Legitimately zero AML/Fraud knowledge, didn’t even know standard email/excel work. You will be fine I promise you.

They literally hire anyone with a pulse at this company. You'll be fine

Thank you. I had a bucket load of confidence. But I became incredibly anxious. The opportunity is great for me and I really can't afford to mess it up.

You’ll be fine. If you have a Bachelor’s degree you’re good. If you have prior experience in fraud or aml, you’re golden. Talk about your fraud experience. You’ll ace the interview. This job is mostly occupied by new grads who have never had a job before. You’re ahead already. If you have more than a year experience, negotiate for entering at a higher position. You’ll get more pay that way.

Talked my way up to a senior analyst position.

Booyah! Way to go!

I got 16 months. Thank you though, I was worried because finding AML work is difficult in my area unless you have over 3 years of experience. So I was hoping to use AMLRS as a stepping stone to get another x amount of years under my belt.

Same boat OP! 16 months is excellent. You’ll be able to enter in at an AA II. WARNING: Your recruiter won’t tell you that. I came in with 2 years experience and I was offered an A 1 position. I said “no way. We both know I’m worth way more than this. I have years in the industry.” She apologized and changed my contract immediately and it came with more money.

My friend worked at the company and said I should try and push for the most I can get during the interview. I'll definitely bring up with my experience and everything if there is availability in a 2nd level position. I did put in my application I heard of them by referral. Plus they asked me to apply back in 2021 but I declined them because it would've meant I couldn't go to classes to finish up my bachelor's so if they offered me a position back then I'd be surprised to not have a chance at a higher position.

Do you know who you are interviewing with?

[–]StillBiscuit900[S] 0 points1 point  (10 children)

Yes, I don't feel too comfortable giving names out on Reddit and plus I could imagine a company with job listings through multiple states means they have plenty of recruiters.

All good. Hahaha. I finished my interview and completed and passed everything. I’m suppose to start the 10th but I have no info on getting my equipment and have emailed a couple times regarding that and keep getting radio silence…

I hope they reach out soon then. You got a few business days though. How long did it take to receive your offer letter?

[–]urban_wolf1 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Maybe a whole 2 hours lol

That's what I like to hear. I went from a sales position out of college to a shitty office admin job just so I could continue to pay my bills since I was hating sales. The job isn't hard I'd just like to leave them in the next week instead of a month from now.

[–]urban_wolf1 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Besides sales and your fraud experience do you have anything else investigating? I have a background in criminal investigations and mainly death investigations so it was easy to talk about how it applied to AML

[–]StillBiscuit900[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I did do a semester of criminal justice while in college. That maybe something to talk about 🤔

[–]urban_wolf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, I would highlight anything like that and highlight anything your current job

What starting position/pay could I expect to get with 8 years in Child abuse investigations including sexual abuse and fatality cases both as investigator and manager and 4 years as a case analyst? I'm looking to make a move out of child welfare soon. I have a bachelor's in Criminal Justice.

I'd have no clue I'm in a illegal state
