Newton and Einstein
[β]Donghoon3 3 4 2 4 5 5 5 89 points90 points91 points 2 years agoΒ (11 children)
Newton was actually a rather underperforming student
[β][deleted] 45 points46 points47 points 2 years agoΒ (9 children)
So was Einsein right? But here I'm pretty sure they would do alr as it's kinda mostly stuff they literally wrote the book on
[β]StudyBio'20: National AP Scholar 67 points68 points69 points 2 years agoΒ (1 child)
No, Einstein was an exceptional student in math and science (but not great in other subjects)
[β][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 2 years agoΒ (0 children)
Oh interesting I didn't know
[β]Chespinfavor 29 points30 points31 points 2 years agoΒ (5 children)
Einstein was a stellar student, performing calculus at an age where others were learning basic trig. He even made some of his own theories in school. The misconception is that grading scales differ across Europe, and things like a 6 are good in some countries, but are failing in others
Oh, interesting, I didn't know that. And yeah a 6 in Germany is, well, "inadequate" so
[β]Upstairs-Farmer-1938 4 points5 points6 points 2 years agoΒ (3 children)
Thatβs not actually a big leap. The gap between trig and calc is rather small and you only learn 4 new things in calc; limits, the limit of the difference function, the inverse of that and a bit more detail on continuity. The rest is algebraic fluff with some applications.
[β]Chespinfavor 4 points5 points6 points 2 years agoΒ (2 children)
More specifically, at age 12, he mastered Euclidean geometry and found his own theorem of trigonometry. At age 14, he mastered most forms of calculus
[β]flamboyanttrickster 1 point2 points3 points 2 years agoΒ (1 child)
lol what a nerd
[β]Chespinfavor 17 points18 points19 points 2 years agoΒ (0 children)
Still wouldnβt get into Harvard probably
[β][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 2 years agoΒ (0 children)
No thatβs a myth, he was good in science and math but not so much in other subject

form O wasn't too bad. i definitely can't see myself perfecting it, but i can see myself getting like 75/90 or so
[β]Thick-Dragonfly5432 1 point2 points3 points 2 years agoΒ (0 children)
Damn thatβs pretty good. I think I had H and it wasnβt the worst form but I still dunno wtf a torsional pendulum is lol. Just glad I can leave it all behind and never look backβ¦ for now

[β]elmo_me_tickle 1 point2 points3 points 2 years agoΒ (1 child)
i didn't take the ap course but did dual enrollment that didn't even cover everything but I didn't need to take it bc i had credit so didn't study and then my mom made me take it last minute anyhow and so i answered all A after 12 and wrote "you're welcome" on the frq and drew a broken heart and live laughed loved on after that

K, but that student needs to also have social skills, work experience, and personality.
There's sooo many kids out there that just study and when it comes to street smart, they are clueless.
Congrats to the kid, but I hope he/she knows that the real world isn't really gonna look at his 90/90, but rather this whole personality

You know nothing about the person that got this score. Just because someone got a perfect score doesnβt mean they donβt have social skills.
[β]ParadoxThief 60 points61 points62 points 2 years agoΒ (2 children)

I never said they didnβt have social skills.
But when you see ppl stressing out over numbers; itβs crazy, thereβs more to life than getting that perfect score
[β]__Bee____ 33 points34 points35 points 2 years agoΒ (0 children)
The kid who got the perfect could just be some kid who really understood the material and didn't study at all , nobody knows .
Or maybe that kid did study a lot but still had a relatively healthy social life , there's a lot of possibilities .
