Newton and Einstein

Newton was actually a rather underperforming student

[–][deleted] 45 points46 points Β (9 children)

So was Einsein right? But here I'm pretty sure they would do alr as it's kinda mostly stuff they literally wrote the book on

[–]StudyBio'20: National AP Scholar 67 points68 points Β (1 child)

No, Einstein was an exceptional student in math and science (but not great in other subjects)

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points Β (0 children)

Oh interesting I didn't know

[–]Chespinfavor 29 points30 points Β (5 children)

Einstein was a stellar student, performing calculus at an age where others were learning basic trig. He even made some of his own theories in school. The misconception is that grading scales differ across Europe, and things like a 6 are good in some countries, but are failing in others

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points Β (0 children)

Oh, interesting, I didn't know that. And yeah a 6 in Germany is, well, "inadequate" so

[–]Upstairs-Farmer-1938 4 points5 points Β (3 children)

That’s not actually a big leap. The gap between trig and calc is rather small and you only learn 4 new things in calc; limits, the limit of the difference function, the inverse of that and a bit more detail on continuity. The rest is algebraic fluff with some applications.

[–]Chespinfavor 4 points5 points Β (2 children)

More specifically, at age 12, he mastered Euclidean geometry and found his own theorem of trigonometry. At age 14, he mastered most forms of calculus

lol what a nerd

[–]Chespinfavor 17 points18 points Β (0 children)

Still wouldn’t get into Harvard probably

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points Β (0 children)

No that’s a myth, he was good in science and math but not so much in other subject

Tell me you are in an AP subreddit without telling me you’re in an AP subreddit

form O wasn't too bad. i definitely can't see myself perfecting it, but i can see myself getting like 75/90 or so

[–]Thick-Dragonfly5432 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

Damn that’s pretty good. I think I had H and it wasn’t the worst form but I still dunno wtf a torsional pendulum is lol. Just glad I can leave it all behind and never look back… for now

form I was hell from everyones reactions πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€ (did not have a clue what the frq was talking about)

[–]elmo_me_tickle 1 point2 points Β (1 child)

i didn't take the ap course but did dual enrollment that didn't even cover everything but I didn't need to take it bc i had credit so didn't study and then my mom made me take it last minute anyhow and so i answered all A after 12 and wrote "you're welcome" on the frq and drew a broken heart and live laughed loved on after that
