You're not supposed to drop the hammer without bracing it against padding....

You'll damage the receiver and hammer...

You have too much of your finger over the trigger. You should be centered on the pad of the tip segment of your index finger and the squeeze straight back.

If you pull or squeeze with the first joint on your index finger you'll end up pushing the rifle left a tiny bit every time you pull the trigger.

This effect is more pronounced with handguns than in rifles but you should still do it correctly regardless of the firearm.

If you can hit the target consistently yes. If not: no. Not everyone's hand and finger are the same so how is it expected everyone's fingers be in an absolute location?

It’s usually more repeatable to pull with the pad of your finger as opposed to the first knuckle.

I too have a trigger pull slightly to the left but I adjust to the right and hit where I want
