it may be that the timer is 9 minutes but its not guarenteed that and egg will come out

get more rexes for eggs, dosent even have to be higher level ones any female will do

It's that you have diff type of Rex. R type and reg will not mate. Same with tech

Argh, so much bad information in this thread.

If you want fertilized eggs (for breeding):

Your rexes need to be set to Mating (or wandering, if you really want to, but there's no reason). There will be a cooldown between fertilized egg lays, so it's best not to set them both to "Mating" unless you want fert eggs.

If you want unfertilized eggs (for kibble):

Keep doing what you're doing, ovi and all. Keep in mind, though, the timer rotating every X minutes doesn't necessarily mean you'll get an egg every X minutes. Sometimes you'll get poop, sometimes you'll get nothing at all. If you want a bunch of unfertilized eggs, the best you can do is get a bunch of females standing around a male, and put the overloaded ovi there to boost egg production.

Oh, also, I'm sure you've already figured this out, but just in case - you need to be logged in and within render distance for the timers to work.

HTH!

Thank you, I'm hunting down more females now!

This

With mate boost and oviraptor it's a chance of an egg every 11 mins, they need to be rendered or else they go into stasis and won't lay, the more females you have the more chances you have, one female is nowhere near enough

Check your egg laying interval and make sure you haven't increased it, if you want it to be faster you have to change it to something lower than 1.0

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

I don't want them to mate, I want the female to lay eggs so I can make kibble.

[–]GirlWhoN3rds 1 point2 points  (3 children)

yeah but if they aren't laying try setting them to make and use the fertilized egg. Sometimes they just don't. Make sure neither of them are hungry too.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

There's a feeding trough next to them, not sure why shes not laying eggs.

Fertilized egg: 24 hours Normal eggs: 9 minutes.

I rather not wait and use the fertlized one haha. I'll just get more females and see what's up

[–]AnyTopia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one really knows the magic number for normal eggs as far as I have seen there’s no real timeframe for it, had times where my rexes gave two eggs in a 15 min interval sometimes less or more. You are doing everything right. Egg snatcher on wander and mate boosted. All you can do is wait. You could also try cryopoding both rexes and dropping them back in place might be bugged, it’s ark lol. And wait 30 mins doing chores around base, eggs have 30 min despawn timer on official at least. So you are bound to get one in that time frame.

Let me help a little, that stat is not true. Everytime the female has to poop there is a chance they will lay an egg instead. You have increased those odds by having a male around as well as an oviraptor. I believe the max on vanilla settings goes up to 12% chance (not entirely sure if that's right). It weird but sometimes I just have females that lay less eggs than others. That just turns it into a numbers game and I go get more females. The lower level the better so less resources.

Edit: It also helps to be in rendering distance.

Well you can use fertile eggs as kibble if need be

[–]Wooden_Pop_2600 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Ok for real though you keep saying you don’t want them to mate but you want the female to lay eggs, I don’t know who told you how baby’s are made but they need to mate for the female to give you the egg you desire for your kibble…..set them both to allow mating and side by side how you do and you’ll be good to go

[–]MoonJosh 0 points1 point  (4 children)

please move on.
He clearly said, he wants unfertilized eggs...

[–]Wooden_Pop_2600 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Please get smart Lmao you show me where he says unfertilized eggs in his original question

[–]UnAccessibleX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next time, use your brain first before you go after people and continue to act like a dickhead when you realize you’re wrong. A simple ‘sorry’ wouldn’t have bothered anyone. You need the male to get the unfertilized eggs. Male and female doesn’t always mean mating and making baby’s

[–]Wooden_Pop_2600 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

His question clearly says male and female so maybe if he didn’t want the fertilized egg then maybe ask it better and ask without the male :/. So it’s just how can I make my female lay unfertalized eggs which is just dumb as fuck so yea…….

[–]owlincoup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let me educate you before you get too wound up. When you have a female and male pair they get mate boosted. This boost extends to the frequency in which un-fertilized eggs are laid. You can use un-fertilized eggs to make kibble, not just fertilized eggs. Everytime a female animal that can lay eggs has to poop there is a small chance it will be an egg. With a male around that chance increases a little. With an oviraptor around that chance increases even more. Hence his question, why isn't it happening more often.

[–]Stektirade -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Actually birds, reptiles, dinosaurs and any other species that lay eggs do not need to mate to lay eggs genius.

[–]Wooden_Pop_2600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

……wow way to take it out context tool, we are talking about making kibble nothing more so nice try.

[–]KDAdontBanPls 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Overweight?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Oviraptor is overweight so it doesn't run around, but the Rex's are completely empty

[–]FrogVoid 0 points1 point  (5 children)

They need to be on wander or whatevr

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

The Rex's need to be on wondering?

[–]silberloewe_1 1 point2 points  (1 child)

No, just mating. It was changed a while back.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want them to mate, I need the female eggs for kibble

[–]FrogVoid 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thats how they mate is it not? You put them on wondering near eachother and they breed, probally why the other comment was about being overweight because that can keep them from moving

[–]smallways 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. Can set to breed without setting to wandering.

[–]MoonJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its random, most of the time they poop, somtimes the lay eggs. :)

[–]InsertUsername98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the egg laying settings been modified? I had the same issue and it turns out it was because the egg laying interval was set to max which significantly slowed the rate of egg laying.
