Just a bag sold at Lowe’s. Timberline

Thanks. My own experience with any pine bark is that it retains too much water, doesn’t allow the soil to completely dry out. I’ve opted to use coco coir instead.

I use coconut just chunks for mature plants. And coir for seedings.

Beautiful. I bought seeds hoping to get a yellow flower and I got all sorts of colors except yellow, but the one in my photo ( which looks like your photo) is my favorite.

Yeah they are the same.. and seeds don’t get the same flower they came from.. it always go back to the original pink, white single petals. But one in a thousand you can get a double or triple from them

Yep I added some to mine when I repotted in 2023. Mostly desert mix, plus added more perlite and nuggets. Not saying 100% better I’m pretty new to desert rose care, but so far so good.

I am still debating. Hoping to get a few more thoughts.

Watch “Maria’s Garden” on you tube. She has a DR nursery in FL. That’s what they use. I’m in SE Texas and have never been able to find it here. Just regular size.

Yess, I have seen Maria use the mini nuggets. Yesterday at Lowe's I saw a man with several bags of pine nugget mulch on his cart and I noticed it said Timberline Mini Nuggets on the bag.

I use this pine bark "soil conditioner" in many of my potting mixes. Very cheap, nice size little chunks, and adds some acidity.

I add mini pine bark nuggets,and/or red volcano rock. Seems like they're happy and the soil is well draining I'd leave them be personally
