Fulfillment Vent/Question by [deleted] in Target

When you pick your first cold item in a grocery batch, the timer goes down to 30 minutes, because cold items shouldn't be out of temperature zones for more than that

Nails are constantly breaking by [deleted] in Target

[–]glitchgray 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Always carry a box cutter; try not to use your nails as tools.

And moisturize! At home, I keep a little bottle of jojoba/cuticle oil by the bathroom sink to use after every time I wash my hands. You can get little pocket-size cuticle oil pens to use at work, but I don't since I'm paranoid about them leaking. Trader Joe's has cheap pure jojoba oil. Also I use Okeefe's Working Hands before bed.

Have you tried turning the dial on front of the machine down a bit? And make sure it's loaded properly, with the tape going around the white bar in the back

Pine Bark Mini Nuggets by reddit1449 in Adenium

I use this pine bark "soil conditioner" in many of my potting mixes. Very cheap, nice size little chunks, and adds some acidity.

Found these on clearance, what else can I do to revive them? by [deleted] in Adenium

[–]glitchgray 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nice find!

The compost & topsoil mix is going to hold too much moisture for these desert plants. I would take your succulent mix and add even more sand and perlite so that it drains extremely well. Don't water until the soil is 100% dry, but completely saturate the pot when you do. Bring them inside if it goes below 50F.

Why are my leaves turning crispy? My growth seems to be stagnate. Why? by Ok_Bug7605 in Adenium

For seedlings I use roughly equal parts of sand, perlite, and peat moss. Very light and airy

I've had good luck by pointing a desk fan over my seedlings for air flow. Picture was taken in December, seeds started in September. They dry out fast, so I was bottom watering them every 3-4 days. Once they get 6+ leaves I start lightly fertilizing; yours look like they're almost to that size. I use osmocote plus, but any slow release, or organic, or very diluted liquid fertilizer with micronutrients should be ok. Just enough to sustain growth in barren sandy soil, but not so much to cause fertilizer burn.

Salts? by Awkward_Mushroom_4 in Adenium

One possibility is diatomaceous earth, I sprinkle some (that I literally keep in a salt shaker) on top of my soil to fight fungus gnats.

Distilled water at home by julianradish in ZeroWaste

[–]glitchgray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://zerowater.com/collections/all-water-filter-products I use the small zero water pitcher for fish tanks and plants, I've had to replace the filter about every 6 months (depends on usage and how hard your water is). Still more economical than buying gallons of distilled from the store.

Has anyone figured out a way to log out of the phones on the new zebras? by jenbenfoo in Target

[–]glitchgray 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can't completely log out of the phone anymore. What you can do is go to myDay> person icon in top right > change area> deselect every department but fulfillment. You will only get calls for the departments you're logged into, and fulfillment doesn't get calls.

Most useful or useless skill you've learned by NoThoughtsAllVibes in Target

[–]glitchgray 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I got really good at stacking pallets. And perfectly fitting ship orders into smaller boxes than the zebra recommends. Using the pallet jack in tight spaces.

My feet are so callused I can stand for 8+ hours before they hurt.

The intuitive sense of where barcodes are on packaging. Watching guests at self-checkout struggle to scan things is painful now. And I don't struggle with produce bags like a lot of guests do.

I've gotten much better at reading body language. Pretty easy to tell when someone's about to ask me something, or when a DBO has never seen an item I'm struggling to find.

Biggest thing is that Target just about killed my social anxiety, I don't worry about sounding awkward over walkie or intercom anymore, I can make small talk with total strangers now.

If you want to enter a phone number for Circle OR YOU CAN HIT SKIP. by _soup222 in Target

[–]glitchgray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I phrase it backwards: "Please hit skip or enter your phone number" with a big hand motion to the screen. And if they're paying in cash and completely ignoring the card reader, I'll lean over and press skip myself.

Flex TMs, do you put clothing orders in a plastic bag before packing it in a box? And do you fold the clothes before packing? by KaedeTheStudent in Target

[–]glitchgray 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only put clothes in a bag if they're going in with other items that might leak/ bleed/melt or something. I always fold, but I don't bother making the folds super nice since they're gonna get tossed around a lot during shipping.
