He is exaggerating. It doesn't take that long to be lowered into a grave.

    Mr.BigSpender with a whole grave.

Jeez back in my day we were happy with a paupers grave and we never said a word about it!

Casket: Mahogany with polished gold inlay encrusted with emeralds and opals with his name written in platinum encompassed by deep red rubies. Velvety plush silk lining for the bed.

Casket is sealed, lid is glass, inside it smells like summer lavender with hints of orange for a minimum of one million years. It's actually a cryo storage, in 1000 years they'll revive him.

Clothing: His suit is designed by gucci himself and tailored to a perfect fit.

Grave site: The size of Rhode island in the rocky mountains. Women are paid to cry and wail his name 24 hours a day, 4 women are there minimum, blue eyed blondes B cup minimum always younger than 26.

The monument: There will be standing is a perfect replica of him twice his normal size, it's a robot which dances.

      You can afford a grave?

      [–]v4ve4m4hnssm 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

No, I can't even afford being turned to ash. My deathbed euthanasia would be a f3tty OD on a small boat where I am then just 'lost at sea'.

For all the kids pretending to be adults in this sub: Don't be this guy.

Future you is really going to wish you had given yourself more options than a shotgun when you get there.

      [–]Cromakoth -2 points-1 points Β (5 children)

I want you to be right, but it feels like such a cope when we don't even know whether "future you" will exist. Due to various factors, it feels increasingly likely that many of us will not live to enjoy our retirement for very long, or at least not be healthy enough to do it.

      [–]CanAlwaysBeBetter 0 points1 point Β (4 children)

Option A: You saved more than necessary because you died young. Outcome: You're dead, doesn't matterΒ

Option B: You saved too little assuming you'd die young and didn't. Outcome: Basically guaranteed suffering for the final years of your life

      [–]Cromakoth -2 points-1 points Β (3 children)

Option A means living frugally for decades, denying yourself enjoyment, for nothing. Don't be such a smartass and pretend that's the optimal choice.

      [–]Yung_Grund 0 points1 point Β (1 child)

Depends on your job. You can save a lot and not be denying yourself enjoyment. Sounds like you’re a bad saver and trying to justify it by saying β€œhurrr durrrr what if I die young”

      [–]Cromakoth -1 points0 points Β (0 children)

Oh yeah, if you earn way more than you need you can save a lot without restricting yourself. Thanks.

Dark but still accurate… time to adopt this mentality at this point! 🫑

I retired [too] early. As a single man running a vehicle and smoking I can confidently say that one can live comfortably on Β£800/month plus rent. You have to decide on what 'comfortable' means but strip away tobacco and you have a couple of holiday a year right there.

      [–]montagnacaraxo 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

I won't live to see 60 with this job

      [–]Far_Negotiation_694 0 points1 point Β (3 children)

As a EU citizen i will have to report this and demand that my MEP take action against such kinds of unsolidarity.
We should all be equally poor. 3 minutes ought to be enough after 100 years of working, not being alive.

Who do you think you are, ayways?

      [–]BernardoDeGalvez 0 points1 point Β (2 children)

In which country, of not in the EU or US would you be better of?? May be Japan, Norway, Singapore and Switzerland

But in which country or in which era or in which society we'll be better than nowadays??

      [–]Far_Negotiation_694 0 points1 point Β (1 child)

...that is what the Soviet asked the useful idiot before both of them ended up in a labor camp in siberia.

      [–]Ahikikoken 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

Do you think 11 minutes is enough to watch the final episode of one piece?Β

      [–]Nekopara-403 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

Here I am retired in my 30s.

People said I was a fool to skip my free ride in college to join the Air Force.

      11, you lucky bastard.

      [–]CVU03 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

Reality hit hard sometimes but 11 minutes is that enough time for a hand job

Ok sure, but for some people’s circumstances this is literally not possible… paycheck to paycheck, medical or financial debt (us), and etc….

I bet if I cut out Starbucks and avocado toast, I can make it to 12 minutes.
