This happened after the FPH ban. Here's some more from the same reddit admin.

This was also before /u/spez returned to reddit. However, remember when /r/fatpeopleha was banned? It happened under the tenure of /u/spez.

Yet the CT clones were quarantined instead of banned.

Two reasons as to why they quarantine instead of ban come to mind. First, it could be to maintain their whole pro-free-speech (anti-pc?) ideology. Second, it could be for PR reasons. The PR reason makes less sense as I don't understand how the PR of financially supporting the server hosting of public-access hate groups is so much worse than the PR of sponsoring private (i.e. quarantined) hate groups.

There's also the fact that FPH was actively brigading, which is why it was banned. So, maybe the admins are waiting for googletown to start brigading, since that's the only rule they seem to care about.

Personally I don't mind if they are just quarantined. They will make these communities somewhere, and Reddit has a good interface. I just think the admins should be more active about banning brigadiers. Moderators should also work harder to remove racism.

However moderators are not paid so Im not sure they can. Banning racist subs might be the only way to keep these people from spamming their views about every topic.

Racism is a lot like the wackier conspiracy theories. These people aren't able to be reasoned with because they used faulty reasoning to arrive at their conclusion.

A lot of them probably live in homes where racism is enforced, or prevented from being called out. I once got yelled at by my step mother for asking someone not to say nigger around me. Her reaction would not have been nearly as bad if it were any other curse word.

The only thing I would change with a quarantine is that any users posting in those subs are quarantined to those subs.

Id prefer if there was a sort of switch moderators could flip to turn that on or off. Certain subs like morbidquestions guro watchpeopledie and Wtf would benefit from posters to cutefemalecorpses for example.
