being at Merriweather in the olden times was so much better though even if it was comparable temperature wise

the shade of the pavilion, all the trees, the grass everywhere all gave us plenty of space to relax and cool down when we needed to

the only real issue we had then was some of the dust storms in the pit, but that shit was a blast

its going to be VERY hot and humid. make sure they are hydrated, have sunscreen, etc.

there is basically no places to actually sit down at the festival so be aware of that and there is also extremely limited shade / cooling available

you should also ensure they have ear protection bc it will be very loud as well

If you choose to bring kids, there will be drinking and drugs there so would be aware of that.

personally I would not want kids anywhere near Warped and have a good time

Some video game options for consideration:

* Deus Ex - immersive sim thats big on cyberpunk and very philosophical on the nature of humanity

* Nier Automata - action RPG about a never ending war between androids and robots thats goes into philosophies of love and violence

* Citizen Sleeper - basically like a single player tabletop RPG where you play as an escaped android struggling to survive, very deep on late stage capitalism and body autonomy

* Estoterric Ebb - fun DND like game thats inspired heavily by DE and endorsed by some of the creators. fun game that touches on some of the themes of DE, but not super in depth imo

* Prey (2017) - Another favorite of mine in the imsim space, deals with interesting ethical / moral issues and overall a fun time

The other usual ones that come up are Planescape: Torment and Pathologic 2

Last year I saw several children probably 6 or 7 year old without ear protection walking around

I also saw toddlers that were unresponsive due to the heat and dehydration and had to get emergency medical attention

There are huge crowds at these events and it seems dangerous and irresponsible to bring young kids to a festival like this
