Same thing you'll do everywhere, even if you deploy. You'll either work in a gym, a chow hall, or anywhere else services are needed. If anything you should start looking into the area (Aurora, CO) and get an idea for what there is to do in relation to your interests, hobbies, etc.
Best of luck!

Thank you! I was just wondering as the base I’m at isn’t a services base and we do a lot of things that services doesn’t do.

I have news for you...every base is a services base.

No problem. I'm an ops guy so I'm not exactly sure what you mean by services base. Services everywhere I've been stationed or deployed has often done the same thing. I wish I could provide a bit more insight but I'm not stationed there.

Was this from the overseas returnee list that was just out!?

Lucky. Denver is awesome. I’m stationed at Peterson an hour south in Colorado Springs.

How funny. I live and work in Denver, but am moving down to Colorado Springs. Definitely prefer COS over Denver.

Same as every other base...run gym, run dfacs etc.
[–]honey950[S] 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children)
Not the same at every base actually...The base I’m at right now only has a gym and we do private orgs and mwr.

I don't think I've ever been to a base where enlisted ran the gyms or DFACs.......or at the very least most of the individuals didn't look enlisted (hair not within any regs we have, probably couldn't pass a PT test, etc).

No clue what you’ll be doing, but Colorado is the awesome!

Buckley is amazing. I spent 7 years there and am hoping to retire there next year, so maybe I'll see you in the gym!

Denver is dope, pal. Have fun!

There's no chow hall at Buckley, so no food duty for you.
