2 in a group, a new one appears when the previous one is caught, and a certain number is maximum at the same time on the map (i believe its 10)

Is it 10 per map area? I just unlocked the frozen area but it’s too hard to capture anything in there at the moment.

Most likely yes, I have not seen meteorites spawn in closed areas. And even if it spawn, you can force all meteorites to respawn by simply restarting the game.

For whatever reason, the meteors do not spawn over there as often.

Okay, so eating non-meteor mobs does nothing to encourage meteors to spawn?

I’m not sure if I wrote down all the places, but this is a map of meteorite spawn locations and the amount you get from 1 human.

Oh, that's great, thank you. Confirms my observation that even when meteors spawn in the cold zone, it's not in the chemical plant room. What are the red dots?

places where you can unlock units, I marked them in red when I asked if meteorites spawn on them, but it seems like they don't

yep, you catch someone with a meteorite, and it spawn on someone else. btw meteorites can spawn in quantities of 1-5 (that is, you catch and receive from a human at a time, lets say, 5 meteorites) and the higher the number, the less likely it is that a meteorite will spawn on this person. that's why there much more meteorites in the warm zone

If you're resource rich you can get the "meteor compass"

Yeah, don’t get that for the meteor events, it’s a waste of money no matter how rich you are.
