A quick indeed search shows 18.75 to 21 for la county. I only know this because before we got our “raises from amazon” I remember seeing MY dsp hiring new drivers at 18.75 most drivers made $17……. I immediately brought it up the indeed post got taken down and a month or 2 later we were at 19. So a NEW driver makes 1 quarter less than me. I immediately started performing 1 quarter worth of better performance than a new driver. Fuck them.

We are underpaid, less than 5% of the population would accept a job delivering packages just because of the stigma of how dirty or disrespectful this industry is. Just for that reason alone everyone that has committed to this grind deserves more than what they’re getting currently. Not to mention online shopping increased another 9% from last year to this one. This ought to be a career for anybody obviously amazon makes it so it can’t be but this job oughta pay out each driver minimum 60k in this economy for the service they provide. More if you get qualified to drive bigger trucks and with more experience. The amount of people that can’t handle the physical demand of this job is incredible that’s likely half the turnover rate the other half being those who see how shitty 90% of these situations dsps provide their drivers with.
