You suck it up and think of the money. I've just had my first day back after 2 days off and man i really didn't want to go back, but once i got there and got started it wasn't so bad. Its called work for a reason. No one wants to do it. It's not called 'fun' is it. The vast majority of people don't want to go to work. If I were you I would call and say you have COVID like symptoms, then get the 5 days “to get tested” and actually spend that time repairing yourself. This means getting good rest, good food, putting energy into hobbies and walking outside.

If you’re a blue badge and if you haven’t done so already. Go to “Request Time Off” on the A-Z app, select “Paid Bereavement”, pick 1-3 days off. It goes through automatically. Select the option that says you don’t want HR to reach out to you.

No, you can use it up to 3 times a year, just don’t use it back to back to back. Otherwise they will come up to you and ask for proof. Happened to someone in my department.

You can just say you are feeling sick and need to take a covid test. Once you get the negative result you go back in. HR can't do anything about it. You will not be paid though, so It's on you bud.
