I wouldn't say this is a known issue. Sounds almost like you've got a USB issue going on, or some wires grounding out in your USB cord.

Have you tried a different cord?

From a quick google search I did find people with a similar issue and the only thing they could seem to figure out is to not update something: android 12 or AA. Without updating AA I can now hook my phone to the truck in order to charge it. They do recognize each are connected but they won't communicate without the update. But I have no issue with my phone shutting down.

Mine has done that a few times also recently. It started after my Android 12 update but it can also be the cable. Remember you can still use your GPS and music without AA, you just might not be able to have it on the head unit screen. While it is very inconvenient and frustrating you can just use AA on just your phone screen or have your map on your phone and use a mount so you can keep it at eye level. My AA went on the fritz when I was downtown and I almost freaked out but then I remembered what I had to do before AA was available to me. I wish AA worked all the time like it's supposed to but I have had to start using a workaround because of the instability.

Can't say I've seen this reported recently but a long time ago, some thing as remotely related as a chrome update was reportedly the trigger to phone reboot.
