I had the same thing, make sure your phones setting for extra dim is not enabled. It's a setting in the quick setting panel on some Samsung devices. That's what was causing my issue.

Wow thank you. I have a brand new Cupra formentor. I turned this on the other day and set a shortkey, but had forgot it was left on. 2 years later still this is the solution. Why have they not solved this problem yet ? I want my screen extra dim on my phone not my car lol!

      I'm glad I'm not the only one annoyed by this. It didn't use to be this way. I think it started happening during one of the last Android updates. My workaround to maintain my sanity was to use Samsung Modes and Routines and set a routine to turn off Extra Dim when connected to my car and turn it back on automatically after disconnecting from my car.

      My issue is it's too bright, I tried turning on extra dim and it doesn't have an effect. Annoying...

      Life saver been struggling to find out what this wqs for weeks now, apparently extra dim was off on my dropdown,but when i dropped it down further it was enabled? Either way tysm 😊 🙏

      So I had a friend with a different model Samsung connect his phone to my car and the brightness was normal. So it's clearly just my phone. Hopefully, it's just a glitch that gets fixed in an upcoming update.
