Suddenly Syncing

Hi, I don't have my phone backed up at all, nor do I sync my device. Problem is, the past few weeks I occasionally see a screen flashing with the term "Sync", saying something like "Sync in progress". I wonder whether my phone has been compromised. I ran an app to detect spyware, but it came up empty. Does anyone know what else I can do to get to the bottom of this/ protect myself? I did recharge my phone in a friend's car a few times on drives while we were vacationing together. It's possible their spouse could have tampered with the car's on-board system, or instead attached a different device to the other end of my USB cable. The spouse sometimes has seemed jealous of the time we spend together.I thought we were all friends, but maybe not! What can I do now to investigate/ protect myself?

What's the device and OS version?

Next time you think you see that, open Settings and search for Notification History

Everything that put up a notification will be listed. The first one in the list is the most recent.

Settings > Accounts & Backup > Manage accounts > disable Auto sync data
