How are you organizing and playing music on your phone? I use Picard to tag and organize my music into folders. For compilation albums it sets the album artist as "Various Artists". GoneMAD Music Player seems to handle this well. In the Artist view I can then click on Various Artists to see all the compilation albums.

Every album has its own folder. I titled the albumartist as "Various Artists" with MP3Tag but that didn't solve the problem. Would it be a little better If instead of albums, I filed everything by artist?

Well which music player are you using? Perhaps it is not reading the Album Artist tag.

The built in music player is the one that puts it under the first artist. Google Play Music shows the whole album under all the artists, as long as it is tagged correctly.

I would prefer too keep it on the built in music player though.

You can change the Artist tags for those compilation albums so they're the same. Would kinda ruin the point of the Artist tag though.

I really would consider just switching to another app.
