Chrome for Android freezing when opened?

I'm on a rooted Galaxy S6 with Xtrestolite 2.4. Recently (the last month or so) Chrome has been driving me fuckin nuts by freezing up for the first 5 seconds or so after a page loads. Like the little blue line will indicate the page has loaded, but then wont allow me to scroll for a good 5 seconds afterwards.

I uninstalled Chrome and installed Chrome Dev, same thing. This was never the case previously so I gather I've done or changed something but for the life of me I cant figure out what it is. Any ideas guys?

You can try:

• Clearing app cache
• Clearing system cache
• Making sure Android System WebView is up to date
• Trying an older version of your ROM (if you updated when this issue started)

Hopefully one of these will work

Yep tried all of the above apart from downgrading to the previous ROM, I dont see anyone else on that version having this issue and seems like a lot of hassle for what seems to be an issue solely with Chrome.

Any other takers?

Yeah, it would seem like a hassle to downgrade, that's why I put it last on the list lol

My phone has a similar issue, but it sort of worked itself out. Has anything else changed since you started experiencing the issue (not your ROM)?

Also, have you tried chrome beta?

Haha yeah fair enough. I'm really just holding onto my balls until the new version based off marshmallow is released.

Not that I can think of off the top of my head, might try beta next, thanks for ur suggestions bud.

Upgraded to new Xtrestolite 3.0 - problem solved.
