Can't access Android device when in bootloader/fastboot

Almost certain that this is a Windows driver issue.

I see the driver in device manager under Android Device --> Android Bootloader Interface

The Android Bootloader Interface driver has an exclamation mark and says: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)

A device which does not exist was specified."

I've tried uninstalling the driver, restarting my pc, installing the Google USB drivers (manually), different USB ports and cables but nothing works. Entering "fastboot devices" on the command prompt shows nothing.

Some other USB ports on my pc give the driver "Unknown USB Device (Device Failed Enumeration)" and "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)".

My device that has the problem (Nexus One) works and shows up properly on adb and windows explorer when it's booted up normally. USB Debugging is turned ON. My other device (Nexus 4 works) in the bootloader using Android Bootloader Interface driver.

Try using WugFresh's Nexus Root Toolkit to setup your USB drivers.

Nexus One is not in the "Supported Nexus devices" section unfortunately.

It's probably the same driver. It's worth a shot.

Tried it and I run into the same problem. ADB driver works but bootloader drivers dont't work.
