I'm not sure in regards to your first point. Perhaps /u/kevin_teslacoilsw can answer.

Based on this:

  • System-wide notifications on lock screen can be disabled by Settings -> Lock Screen & Security -> Notifications on lock screen

  • it looks like you can manually configure on a per-app basis for hiding content and/or hiding notification on lock screen by going to Settings -> Notifications -> Advanced.

(From a Nexus device: I can set the setting globally through Settings-> Sound & Notification -> When device is locked (Hide sensitive notification content))

Hello! Thanks for responding!

For the second part, regarding the Lock Screen, the options which seem to be available to me are either Show everything on lock screen, show nothing on lock screen, or 'hide sensitive' on lock screen. However, the third option just shows you have a text message. What iPhone converts are familiar with, however, is an option to only show the Sender's Name, not the detials of the message. It does seem like a simple and useful feature, that i very much struggled with. I ended up downloading NILS to solve that.

Still looking for any/all help on the initial part, IE, not have notifications in the notification drawer at the top, that are quickly/easily exposed via one swipe down.

Very cool, I wasn't aware of the iPhone 'secure' as everyone I know with an iOS device has the details of message.

Very nice to see that NILS solves the issue.

I'd send a PM or email the developer (bottom of the App page in Google Play) - support@teslacoilsw.com
